Vehicle Detail
FOR AUCTION A JEEP CJ7. This is pretty much a stock CJ, with the original inline 6, 5 speed manual trans, manually locking 4 wheel drive with 4low. I bought this a few years ago with the hopes of fixing it up a little bit, but don't have the time or money now. The only things on it that aren't stock that I know of is the carb, which I got off a '78 cj, and an electric auxiliary fuel pump. The previous owner used this as an up north hunting truck. In an attempt to make it 'faster' he cut all the emissions stuff out of it. that just doesn't work on the 80's cj's. so after trying in vain to replace the emissions equipment I gave up and got a carb off of a '78 (before the vacuum powered throttle control was introduced) and that solved it. He also installed a small electric fuel pump under the hood, in addition to the normal mechanical one. one thing its handy for is that you can leave this thing sitting for months and it primes the carb right up, no need for pouring gas in the carb after a year of sitting. I'm guessing that the carb float level needs to be adjusted, because you have to feather the gas pretty good to get it up over 50mph or so. It'll do it, but its a hassle, and I never drive this thing on the freeway anyway, so it never really was pressing for me to mess with it. comes with a weird little plow. its only like 3 feet wide, and looks home-made, and unfinished. it hooks to a towbar with a 2" ball on the front. odd. the positives: starts and runs and drives and rides nice. I take my daughter to school in it a couple days a week. Good tires. tons of tread left on them. runs nice and quiet good glass frame in pretty good shape the negatives: body rusty. shows the years and wear of being an up north-hunting truck. fenders, floors, body have rust, and rusted through in places. especially the front floorboards has a cracked fiberglass windshield frame. I have it covered with black gorilla tape. certainly repairable. The gauges read a little odd. fuel is empty when it reads an 1/8th, and tack never goes above 3000, though its proportional Every once in a while the throwout bearing is a little noisy. might need replaced soon. Headlights just stopped working the other day. I'm going to see if I can fix that. will update here if I do. please feel free to ask any questions for clarification. thanks! PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ONE PICTURE THERE IS A PICTURE OF THE WINDSHIELD. I HIT A ROCK THIS MORNING TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL AND GOT A SMALL REPAIRABLE PEBBLE CRACK. ALSO, AS WAS UNMENTIONED PERVIOUSLY BECAUSE I HADN'T REALLY NOTICED AND/OR GOTTEN USED TO IT. THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS A BOLT MISSING OR SOMETHING, BECAUSE THE SEATBACK LEANS BACK ON ONE SIDE FURTHER THAN THE OTHER SIDE. I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT HAVING MENTIONED THIS EARLIER, BUT AT A GLANCE IT LOOKS TO BE EASILY REPAIRABLE, AND IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE SEAT FOLDING FORWARD TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE.
