Vehicle Detail
1956 Chevy Bel Air 2 Door Hardtop, this car has been owned by a good friend of mine since 1982. He restored it himself and it has many good memories but it has come time to let it go. The car itself is an older restoration with very presentable paint and interior and could be driven anywhere! He is very saddened to let it go, but times have changed. He asked me to advertise it for him as I have more experience with EBay. I will forward all questions to him and can provide any extra pictures or information about this car as needed. I can put you in touch with him directly if you would like. Make no mistake, anyone would be happy with this car. If I personally had the extra money right now I would buy it myself! There are many memories involved with this car. It is not perfect, but it is an excellent well cared for daily driver quality car, it has probably only been driven about 250 miles per year. Lets start with the body, the paint is red/white (Matador Red / Indy Ivory). The body is stock with no modifications. The paint is in overall very good condition, it is an older paint job but is still very presentable, there are some small flaws, but nothing major. The underside of the body has some minor rust on the inner side of the rockers and a couple of braces are rusted, these have been like this for years and present no drivability issues. Pics of the underside can be provided, there just wasn't enough room to add them. The wheels are Keystone Brand, with 5 spoke with knock off centers and the tires are P225/70R15 National XT Renegade. The glass is in good shape. Front windshield and seal are new, the side glass is pretty good, no cracks but some small scratches and the rear glass has some small scratches. The wipers have been upgraded to electric. The drivetrain consists of a small block 350 bored .030 over. Flat top pistons, duplicate of the factory 350hp 327 cam. Holley 600 carb, Accel dual point distributor, Edelbrock Torker intake manifold, Edelbrock valve covers, and Air Cleaner. Headers with dual exhaust and turbo mufflers. Walker radiator with polished top, side motor mounts and updated transmission crossmember. The transmission is a Turbo 350 with shift kit. The shifter is a B & M ratchet shifter (He thinks it is a Megashifter, but cannot remember for sure) and shifter is mounted in console The rear end is the stock style 10 bolt with a "P" case and 3.56 positrac. The suspension is stock on the front and it has front and rear stabilizer bars and air shocks on the rear. The front has been upgraded to disc brakes and the rear are drums. The steering has been upgraded to a later model 605 Power Steering gear box. The interior consists of older styled diamond shaped black door panels and seats. The front seats are buckets with center console. The steering column has been updated to a late model GM tilt column with key in the steering column, chrome windshield trim, chrome side window trim, Stewart Warner tachometer mounted in console, Stewart Warner gauges mounted in dash (oil pressure, water temp, volts and vacuum), power door locks, Alpine Alarm with keyless entry, power antenna, Alpine CD player, 6 speakers, 3 amplifiers, front Alpine tweeters with 80 watt Alpine amp, Rear 6 X 9 speakers with Coustic 180 watt amp, 2 10" Coustic subwoofers with 100 watt Coustic amp. The trunk is carpeted wall to wall, speakers are in hidden compartment and the battery is trunk mounted. As stated above, any and all questions will be answered in a timely manner. Please understand that we both work, so there might be short delay until your questions will be answered but they are not being ignored. The car is being sold as is with no warranty. Payment is expected within 3 days of end of auction unless other arrangements have been made after auction ends. Good luck to all and happy bidding!
