Vehicle Detail

UP FOR AUCTION IS A GREAT LOOKING AND INCREASINGLY RARE 1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE WITH THE EVER POPULAR SUICIDE DOORS THAT RUNS/DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY AND YOU CAN HOP IN AN DRIVE ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. 52,000 MILES SHOWING ON THE ODOMETER. VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. This is a rather unusual Lincoln Continental, as has a couple of rare options, such as SPEED CONTROL (or cruise control we call it today) and two tone interior (code "74" which is referred to as BEIGE leather, but is technically two tone). It is also a RARE color in code "X" which is BLACK CHERRY METALLIC. It is basically an original car with an older repaint that has been kept in storage for most of its life during the 70s-2000s, until 2006 or so when it was taken out and gone through to make sure it was safe and legal to drive on the road. The car runs/drives beautifully. Interior is in GOOD original condition with general minor wear here and there. Seats have wear and some small cuts by the front driver's side, and probably a good deal of sun fading. Door panels and dash pad look very nice with minor wear. Convertible top is very presentable with no rips that I could see. Nice and presentable carpet as well. Overall a very presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood lies the correct and original motor which is all stock down to the original color on the block as you'll see in the pictures. Starts easily and sounds great with a nice and quiet idle. Good stock power overall and brakes stop WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it wherever you like. It's never left me stranded and always starts up nicely. I would suggest having it completely checked out before going on a cross-country trip, just to be safe. $2,800 spent getting Convertible top to work great and has had a lot of the relays and motors overhauled (with RECEIPTS). Lots of other service work available as well. Needs work on lights and windows. Parts all there might just be wires. Underside shows GOOD floorboards and SOLID frame throughout from what I could see. NICE and SOLID trunk compartment as well without any serious signs of rust or big holes anywhere that I could spot. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up WELL with NICE luster for a good driver. Some minor general wear as you would expect from driving. (some trim pieces were not properly masked before paint years ago and have some residue). There really is no rust on the outside body panels of this car other than maybe a tiny bubble or two here and there. Not working: horn (works on/off), a couple of bulbs may need replacing, radio, power seat (disconnected). Minor leaks as you would expect of an old car. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. It basically needs a good deal of tiny finishing touches or gentle aesthetic redo eventually, depending on what you want to do with it. OVERALL IT'S A BEAUTIFUL TURN-KEY CRUISER THAT YOU CAN HOP IN AND DRIVE ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW. THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A VERY DESIRABLE 1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE WITH 52K MILES ON THE ODOMETER, SERVICE HISTORY, AND RARE OPTIONS. THAT YOU CAN HOP IN AND ENJOY RIGHT NOW!
