This 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible is a rare automobile, not one of the run of the mill car show attendees. Chances are when you show up with a Cougar it will be the only one at the show and is even more rare as a convertible. Less than 2700 convertibles were made in 1970 and this car is one of only 13 made in this color and trim. The color is Pastel blue and the interrior is called Parchment, a "dirty white". The car is equiped with a 351 Windsor and a 2 barrel single exhaust. Since I have owned the car is has been repainted, new interrior, new battery, new starter, chrome wheels and chrome under the hood. This is a very clean and straight auto. This car won third place in the Cougar Nationals in West Virginia. I have been a member of the National Cougar Club and two local clubs in Kentucky and New Jersey. My Cougar is fun to drive, great to show and to look at. It draws thumbs up every time I take her out. I would be comfortable driving the car from here to either side of the US for a road trip. The real value of the car is three times the opening bid.
