Vehicle Detail
I just purchased this car from a gentleman in Richmond who's father bought it brand new and drove it sparingly to say the least. Yes it only has 33,xxx original miles and there are a bunch of the pink inspection receipts still in the glove box to prove this with the milage noted on each. Title supports this as well showing 33k original miles as it was titled to the man I purchased it from upon his fathers death. Car is loaded with options and seemingly has power everything. Last inspection was in 2007 but I put a battery in and the third revolution of the motor she fired right up and there is no smoke. Has the 400 cubic inch engine. Has the optional alloy wheels. Trunk inside is super clean. Has tan leather interior that is near perfect and will easily clean up. AC system has a sticker that says it has been converted to the more modern type of 134 Freon. Has some minor body rust spots but these should be easy to treat for the most part as most of it is just spotty. Selling with NO RESERVE - AS IS CONDITION. This car will need some body restoration and a good going over before going back on the road as one would expect. I will be glad to email you specific pictures upon request. You are more than welcome to come take a look and drive it around the block. There is some spotty rust in places as mentioned and a rust hole hear where the vinyl top starts and some on the rear bumper cross bar underneath. Feel free to ask questions BEFORE bidding and BEFORE buying as I want you to be satisfied with what you are getting and again I invite you to come look and hear this motor run smooth. Good luck and have a great week. On Jan-05-11 at 16:05:40 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: The actual milage is 33,990 - yes actual. I have 18 various Virginia State inspection receipts from the glove box the first being from 1981 showing 8238 miles on up to present. To the many who have asked is it roadworthy and if they buy it can they drive it home. Close inspection of the tires shows them to be dirty rather than dry and the tread is very good. It is full of antifreeze. I checked all the fluids and lights and these appear fine so I then today took it to our local garage and they checked the brakes, all lights and more and it passed Virginia state inspection and has a new sticker. I drove it around the neighborhood before getting it inspected and it appeared to drive fine with no issues. I found two receipts in the glove box where new wheel cylinders and rear brake shoes and more were installed at 33608 miles and the oil was changed with Pennzoil at 33608 miles. Again I cannot guarantee anything as any mechanical thing will indeed break down but right now it appears to be running fine and stops on a dime. Other things people have asked about I checked today with the following results: power windows - all work, windshield - no cracks, power seat - works fine, radio - comes on but no sound, power antenna - works, power locks - work but a little sluggish, 1/2 vinyl top - many cracks - needs replacement, rust: there are some rust holes in the following places: as mentioned below the vinyl top molding on the drives side (see picture), tail fins, drivers door bottom, underside of hood, fender lips near hood and the bar near the rear bumper visible underneath I posted images of all the worse spots. The interior and trunk have not been cleaned and the carpet in the front and in the trunk is good. Leather interior is good with only one small cut in the driver seat about dead center under the driver but should be an easy fix. Leather is somewhat discolored but supple. Some wear to wood-grain on horn button. Headliner, doorpanels and more are fine. Bottom line the car seems very sound mechanically but will need some body and minor interior restoration. A great project car for sure and again please feel free to ask questions. Come and take a look if you can. Good luck and happy bidding.
