Vehicle Detail
This is a '67 Toronado. Its not a 10 out of 10, but it looks pretty good. I guess you'd call it a 5 or 10 footer - the paint job is bright blue metallic, probably done 5-10 years ago on the cheap. It has some scratches here and there, the trunk lid is bubbling, and there is probably some filler in the lower fenders and door corners. The vinyl top is original, faded blue with some bubbling underneath. The rear Toronado emblem and the antenna are missing. Floors, etc are very nice. Trunk has a couple pin holes and 2 holes where a trailer hitch was added years ago but removed. Mechanically the car feels great - if left for a couple days you'll need to prime the carb to get it to start, but it fires up with a healthy grown and sounds really strong. Like a 60's blg block olds should. To my knowledge, its bone stock except for a dual exhaust with Thrush glasspacks. Trans shifts fine, brakes are good to fair, etc. Headlights will work if connected to manifold vacuum - the pods are ok but someone started replacing hoses and everything is disconnected. Other lights are ok. Previous owner before me (1 year ago) did a full tune up, new 235-75-15 tires, and I just replaced the power steering return hoses, tuned the carb and reset the correct timing. The power windows do not work currently due to some frayed/cut wires in the door jamb. Power seat works intermittently. AC needs charged. I don't have any hub caps or trim rings for it. However the car retains its original deluxe floor mat and accessory trunk mat. Seats have some splitting on the tops, but carpet is original and presentable, and overall the interior is very usable. I've owned the car for a year and drove it just a few miles. One night I failed to latch the hood all the way and it came open while driving. Ouch! Fortunately the damage wasn't that bad - windshield wasn't broken and I only had to replace the hinges. Unfortunately, the hood has several dents and doesn't fit 100% any more. However it does open and close ok, and the latch works now! After that I parked it and didn't do much more with it. As it sits now it could probably be driven home, but I won't promise anything. It just hasn't been on the road much lately, but hasn't given me any signs of trouble. The Toro is located in New Richmond, Ohio, near I-275 and US-52. I'd like to let the auction run its course but if you have questions, feel free to email or call 513-314-7620. Thanks for looking! I will post better pictures as soon as the snow clears up - for now I just have these from when I first bought the car last year. It was stored inside and driven regularly by previous owner, and I've kept it inside most of the time I've owned it. On Dec-31-10 at 14:31:07 PST, seller added the following information:Here's 35 more pictures. I looked everything over and there are some small rust spots in the center of the trunk where water had collected, but the floors are excellent. The only rust in the frame is a scaly looking spot on the dog leg that kicks up over the rear wheel. Doesn't appear to be serious. Also there's a tear int he bottom of the rail above the rear wheel where a hitch was mounted and improperly removed. Spring perches look good. Everything is shown in pics below.
