Vehicle Detail

Hello, let me tell you about this old, but first let me say this is the fourth automobile that I have sold on Ebay in the last seven years and they have all gone without a hitch (with the exception of one that sold and the buyer never paid). I will be brutally honest with you here so as to avoid any misunderstandings during the transaction portion. First of all this is not a show car (obviously). This car has problems, needs lots of love, attention and most of all money. If you are looking for a daily driver look elsewhere. Have we gotten rid everyone looking for a perfect VW? Good. Now if you like to tinker with cars, restore them, or if you are looking for a first time project let me tell you the story of this car as far as I know it. about three years ago I bought this car from my brother in law in Atlanta Georgia and drove it 700 miles to Greenwood Arkansas, stupid right? Well the little car made it, I do not suggest doing this. Come to find out the car had no title being from Georgia in the mid 70's only a title number. I did all the leg work, paper work and paid $100 just to get a title. So the car now has a title. It sat in the garage for a while, I would go out and start it on occasion. About a year ago I started making small improvements. I bought a new battery, I replaced the windshield wiper and turn signal switches, replaced relays. So now the blinkers and wipers work. I replaced the steering wheel with a used original one to accomodate the switches. I became concerned that there might be rust on the floor pan so I ripped the carpet out and sure enough there was rust including small holes where you could see the ground. I ripped out all of the carpet and treated the floor pan with POR15. If you are not familiar with this product look it up! It worked great. So now with the economy and the holidays tag teaming my bank account I need some wiggle room and my little project has got to go. The car runs, the brakes work. I will now try to list all of the cars faults, but I assure you it will not be all of the cars faults. There is some rust on the exterior of the car shown in pics. The paint is oxidized, it needs new paint. There are several dents and dings. I do not think the hood is original, the hood also seems to have some bondo or something in it. The seals around the windows are old and need replaced. It leaks oil from the sump plate. The seats, while in surprisingly good condition do not seem to be installed quite right. Taking them out to treat the floor I found them to be rigged up, missing parts. I removed the passenger seat when I was considering having new pads put in only to find that a screw driver had been stuck into a joint to keep it up. I took it out and disassembled it in order to rebuild but I ran out of money and time. So I am sorry to say it is still in pieces. You will need new tires. The horn does not work. I did fix a troublesome gas leak under the hood. The idle needs to be adjusted, when you take your foot off the gas it dies. The head lining is ripped as you can see from the pictures. Look what I am trying to say is that it has potential If you have the time and money. I will throw in all the books I purchased along with part catalogs to help you on your way. I even have the Muir book, the Bible for VWs. If you have a question please ask I will be honest with you, if you need a pic of something specific let me know. I check my email constantly so don't hesitate. I am not mechanic but I will do my best. You will be responsible for pick up and pick up must be made within seven days of the end of the auction. I would caution you about driving this car away unless you are a mechanic. I think I got lucky driving it as far as I did. I will start the bidding at $300 without a reserve. I expect a $300 deposit through Paypal within 24 hrs. of the end of the auction and the remainder to be paid before the car is picked up.
