This 1956 Chevrolet has been garaged stored at all times since we owned it, about 20 years. The motor is original and we believe the miles are too (71,000). The one thing that we did do is change the original color of matador red to an original color of plum (purchased from a chevrolet color representative) with the off white color. When we did the color change, we contacted a paint manufacture in Syracuse to get the original color for that year of car. We thought about keeping it red, but everyone has red, so we changed it to dust plum with the off white. The paint is smooth with no ripples, there is some overspray in areas underneath and by door jams. The interior is done to perfection to project the 1950's design. Beautiful leather seats of black and white, very well crafted by an expert. In addition, the back window and roof have a unique 1950's appearance. The carpet is black and throughout to include trunk area. The motor is very clean. The tires are white walls. The crome is original, with a few wears, minor dents, but not much rust, if any at all. Crome appears to be strong. No power steering, no air, and the am radio on dash board is original. It is sad to let it go, but we hope whoever buys it enjoys and cares for it as we have. The car runs, we have insurance on the car, but do not have plates on it, nor is it registered. Due to our careers we were not able to take the car out on the road this year. Also, we have a fairly new sears die hard battery in the car (about 2 yrs.). Additional pics can be emailed to each person that is interested. In addition, we have a certified appraisal conducted by a NYS licensed appraisal company that is for more than the reserve. Also, the buy it now price is less than appraisal. We will give the purchaser the appraisal upon purchasing the car. As with any sale, all sales are final, and as is.
