1978 Chevrolet Silverado "Big Ten" 1/2 ton long wide pickup. This is my Grandfather's truck that he bought new from King Chevrolet in Tyler Texas on 12-5-1977. I still have the original Texas title issued back in 1977. He ordered it new and had a am/fm stereo with 8 track tape player installed that's still in the truck and still works & a chrome rear bumper installed at the dealer. I have the original invoice when he bought it new and the build sheet from the St.Louis, Missouri plant. Owners manual and warranty information, even have the original keys and dealers key chain. It was built with a 350 V8, automatic transmission, Deluxe interior with power windows, power door locks, tinted glass, custom seat & deluxe carpet. It has cruise control, tilt wheel, intermitten wipers, custom steering wheel, cargo lamp, auxillary fuel tank, and the original rally wheels. It has a heavy duty chassis with front & rear heavy duty springs that makes up the "Big Ten" package with a 3250 lb. rear axle & 340 ratio rear end. Even came with a Silverado hood ornament and sport stripes on the hood. This is a one owner truck that has been under his carport since new and only driven about 5000 miles in the last ten years. I have all the maintence records to show the dates when the services were preformed from 1987 until now. The total mileage is just over 135,900 miles. We're selling his truck since he can have only one car know that he put Grandma in the nursing home. It has Mariner blue top and bottom with Hawian blue insert w/hood and top of the cab the same Hawian blue color. It had a fiberglass camper installed just after he bought it and is the same lighter blue color, therfore the inside of the bed is very good and has very little paint worn off and no dents. The only rust on the truck is on the hood where it meets the grill when closed. No other rust anywhere. The paint is original, I just put on new mufflers & installed new white wall radial tires. The last set had a little over 5000 miles on them but where 10 years old. I replaced them so I could show it and not worry about having blow outs. There's a small dent just behind the drivers rear wheel (see picture) it will need a headliner, the original is still in place but sags a bit, the drivers side of the seat has some stiching coming loose. We are selling the truck with no reserve. I can deliver it to an auto transport in Dallas or I will store it for up to 30 days in my garage free of charge.
