1962 Chevrolet C-10 stepside shortbed pick-up for sale by 2nd owner. This pick up is a great little truck, and runs absolutely great. And the best part is that it has only 56,000 original miles, really it does. The turck came off a ranch in Wyoming, and the ranche rkept it parked for years and wasnt used as a daily driver. He eventually passed away and I purchased it from his children a few years ago. This thing is so original is still has some of the first sets of bias tires on the front, and they are in great shape with plenty of tread life. The truck does have small rust spots, but nothing larger than at most two inches wide in diameter. Since I have had it, I had the rear suspension rebuilt with new trailing arms, shocks, springs, u bolts, bolts and nuts etc. This project alone was $2500. Next I had the cooling system rebuilt, by resealing the radiator, changed belts, tubes etc. I replaced the voltage regulator and generator with authentic chevrolet parts. All glass is in pristine condition, no cracks period. The interior is in great shape. The bench seat has a cover on it at the moment, but the original seat is still under there. Things that need to be addressed are the wood in the truck bed. The original wood is still there, I have put a piece of ply-wood to protect it, and prevent further damage. The metal in the bed is actually in great shape, and would be an easy job to replace the wood in the bed. Obviously the truck would be a great restoration project, and if it was purchased for that, the body would need some work. But the body is completely straight, I was told from the original owners that it had never been in any kind of accident. Both doors shut completely straight with out any kind of force to get them to stick. One of the heater motors still turns, but doesnt put out hot air. The engine is set up with the heater option. The stereo worked up unitl about 5 months ago, and havent had a chance to take it out to address the issue. I think it might be a fuse. It stopped working right after I had the regulator and generator replaced. So Im guessing that the mechanic crossed wires somewhere for long enough that a fuse went out. The engine is a 235ci straight six. It runs great and is the original motor. It does burn a little oil, but not too much. I would say I add a quart every couple months. The exhaust is in good shape and was replaced by the original owners right before I purchased it.The transmission is in good shape, the clutch could use a little adjustment though. All wiring and lights, headlights, low and high, turn signles work fine, even the back up light. Wiper motor works and keeps windsheild clean in rain. I have at times of the year even in winter used this truck as a daily driver because its so fun to drive. So you can fully expect to drive this truck with out problems. I live in Utah, and have driven it as far north as idaho and as far south as 4 corners. I have used it to haul gravel and rocks. It really is a fun stepside, and its in great shape for 50 years plus. Hopefully the truck can go to someone who has appreciated it as much as myself. I have been holding out forever trying not to ever have to sell it, but the time has come unfortunately.
