Vehicle Detail

This auction is for my 1971 Honda CT70 K0 trail bike. Manufacture date is 12/70. This bike gets a lot of attention. It is a sharp looking bike that everybody wants to ride. It has some updates like new high quality seat cover, new exhaust system, new carburetor, new tires, and misc little bits around the bike. The bike could be ridden as is, or if someone wanted to take it to the next level they could do a full restoration. I like it the way it is, showing its "patina" - a nice way to say its been used, and has scrapes and shows some age. The pictures came out nice. You should use those as your guide to the condition of the bike - but realize sometimes pictures make things look even better than they are. This is a great old bike and don't want to discourage anybody - but it is not a restored bike ready for a show. The bike runs great and usually starts on the first or second kick. It seems to have plenty of compression, and runs well like these little Hondas should. Somebody long ago did the common repair of welding the kickstart arm to the shaft so it wouldn't slip. The kick start works fine and I've never had a problem with it. The bike doesn't smoke or sound funny, it shifts easily into all three gears, brakes work fine. The horn is new, the speedo works fine and I have to assume that it shows the correct mileage. The headlight works, but you have to jiggle the hi/lo switch to make it light. Maybe you could fix that switch or just replace it. I started the bike today before listing it, and rode it around the driveway just make sure everything was in order. It was 28 degrees, so it may not be a good test, but it had a little "off idle" hesitation. If you gave it throttle too quickly it would stall. I am not a mechanic, but I played with the air mixture and idle, and got it pretty good, but I think someone with more knowledge could probably get it just right. Again, it runs well, sounds good, no smoke, etc... but I just want the person who buys it to be happy and have no surprises. I have 100% positive feedback and want to keep it that way. I've been happy with it, just riding around the yard with my kids has been a lot of fun. Note the rear rack is really cool - but don't use it as a seat. Put a basket on there or something for hauling your stuff. I won't crate this bike for shipping. Either your shipper can pick it up as is, or you can come pick it up. I am about 20 miles west of Baltimore near I-70 Paypal deposit of $300 at close of auction and the rest in cash at time of pickup, or if you have it shipped, a certified check in advance. Sold with Bill of Sale, no title. Thanks
