UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1981 VW RABBIT (1.6 TURBO DIESEL 5 SPEED) PICK UP TRUCK. I CHANGED THE MOTOR IN THIS TRUCK AND IS A 1984 1.6 TURBO DIESEL ( 68 HP with external fuel adjustment to increase or decrease the horse power) and has about 94,000 TOTAL MILES ON THE MOTOR. THE 1.6 DIESEL HAS (52 HP). TRUST ME YOU HAVE TO BE CARFULL OR YOU ARE SPEEDING AS THERE IS A SUBSTANIAL DIFERANCE IN POWER. Total Miles on the odometer says 228,680. There was A lot of new parts installed when I changed the motor, as New clutch & pressure plate, Motor mounts, all the radiator and water hoses, timing belt, fan temp censer, thermostat, exhaust system, both drive Axles and CV Joints, new brakes, emergency brake cables and new tires. The steering is very good and tight. The motor has a small oil leak and looked like probably valve cover gasket. The body is all original and has no major rust areas that I am aware of, but a few small dings and scratches and remember it is almost 30 years old. With a 10 being new I would rate the body at 8 . The BED inside is very good other than a few scratches in the paint. The interior is red and I would rate it at 6 or 7. Yes it does need cleaned up.
