Last owner for 28 years!... 1969 Porsche 911E Targa Chassis No. 119210117 Engine No. 6298118 Type: 901/11 Transmission No. 3180247 Type: 905/00 (4spd Sportomatic) Only a few years after the 911 was introduced in 1965 the 911E became the first fuel injected Porsche 911 when it was introduced in 1969 a 2-litre (1991cc) refinement with Bosch mechanical injection which increased horsepower from the 911Ts 125hp to 158hp and added 8 lb-ft torque at the same time. It foreshadowed the future of Porsche. Debuting just a year before was Porsches innovative Targa design with a full width rollbar and integrated removable roof panel. The combination 1969 911E Targa is one of Porsches most important and significant models implying the future not only of Porsches fuel injected flat six engines but also the 911 series diverse body styles. 119210117: Meticulously cared for by its previous owner of 28 years, this complete numbers-matching 911E has been thoroughly restored beyond factory specs throughout the last decade. No detail was overlooked during the rebuild, reviving this California car to a semi-outlaw themed driver. The 911 achieves its more modern appearance with an aggressive lowered stance, beautiful glossy paint, excellent brightwork, and upholstered targa top. The interior has had a few modern touches as well. The stereo system has been upgraded with an aftermarket Sony CD player, which can easily be replaced back to a factory unit if desired. The sporty bucket seats were transplanted from a late 80’s Carrera, and complement the interior quite nicely. A Momo steering wheel was installed in place of the factory assembly, although the original wheel is included. And white (factory style) racing gauges replace the OEM black units. Mechanically, the 911 is extremely strong and reliable. The engine, drive train, steering and suspension have all received a considerable amount of care and attention. All recent servicing and restoration paperwork accompany the vehicle, totaled in excess of $15,000! The owner’s folder containing all of the original guides and manuals, two sets of keys, vehicle registration from 1982, an extra set of fitted floor mats, and bonnet bra are also included with the car. The undercarriage retains its original factory undercoat and shows no signs of rust. The fit and finish throughout is excellent and ready to show or drive.
