Mechanic Special! up for sale is a 2000 nssan frontier crew cab 4x4 5 speed that needs an engine. the truck is in pretty good shape otherwise and was a daily driver until the engine was run hot and overheated. engine is pulled already and in the bed of the truck. 2 local salvage yards have quoted me $1000 for a used v6 3.3ltr engine so that should be the highest cost, and i have seen them online for 600$ with low mileage. new water pump in the box included. has bed extender, bed liner, sliding rear window, cd player. i was told by the prior owner that the truck had in the 140s for mileage, however i have not been able to get the display to light in the truck to verify it. not sure if it doesn't display because the engine is pulled or something i'm missing, i've tried the simple things, fuses etc. title shows 98k as of 1/07. tires are ok but nothing special, spare tire is brand new. needs a running board on the right side, i found one for $40 online at a yard. body is pretty darn good except for the small dent behind and below the bottom of the right rear door. there is a ding on the right door and fender, although minor and i wouldn't fix them. 5 speed is very hard to find for this truck as 95% were automatic. (waiting to the end of auction will fail you in my estimation, given the number of calls i've gotten). please no lowball offers, just bring $3300, look at it, and buy it. very simple. I think whoever gets it will be very happy with this truck. I've gotten engine labor installation quotes of $350 by the way. truck has a tow hitch, power windows, cruise control, power mirrors. the starter, a/c pump, air pump, wiring harness, exhaust, etc are all intact and still attached under the hood as one would expect when pulling an engine. trans and axles were not removed and are intact. seats are grey cloth. there are no cracks in the windshield and all the glass is good. also, if i'm missing some picture areas that are important to you please email and i will post a pic of it. i appreciate the feedback!
