The original owner had a mail order “Royal Bobcat “ package sent and installed on the car and from that point on the car was babied and kept in heated garages I am the 4th owner and have all paperwork from day one. All the decals , plastic around the column , all the receipts from 1972 till now have been kept, the original sales agreement and every sale from from there on till now, the original Pontiac dealer option and color cataloque (ive never seen one of these and its extremely cool) The car is 100 percent amazing and would be a fantastic addition to any collection or if you ever wanted a pretty much brand new Catalina Convertible to roll in , here’s your chance the mileage on the car is believed to be original at 3250 miles For those of you that don’t know here is a little history on Royal Bobcat "Royal Pontiac was a dealership located in Royal Oak, Michigan. Founded by dragracer Ace Wilson, Royal Pontiac began making modifications to Pontiacs back in 1959, and selling these cars to customers. As Royal's popularity grew, the modifications they performed took on a name: "Bobcat". The Royal Bobcat "kit" could be ordered through the mail by any enthusiast. It consisted of a large box containing thinner head gaskets, blocked heat riser intake gaskets, distributor recurve kit, larger jets for the carb(s), rocker arm locknuts, colder spark plugs (Champion J10Y), and the necessary gaskets (valve cover, valley pan) to perform the modification.
