Vehicle Detail
This is a very clean, shiny, fast, and well built 1987 Quadzilla. All engine work done by Loren Duncan at Duncan Racing in Santee, CA and Tony Zuech at T&N Performance in Ogden, UT. I am into this quad about $12,000 and I have receipts for all engine work and parts. The benefit of the ’87 is that it has a much bigger intake which is why it is the fastest year. I have owned this for 4 years and have only ran it for 4 hours with 3 of those hours in the first year and the 4th hour for heat cycles after the rebuilds. I just don’t use it and while it has been a mixture of fun and frustration getting it to where it is today, I have lost interest in it and it is time to sell. Unfortunately for me, after buying it and running it 3 hours over two trips at the dunes it seized up. I had just moved to San Diego and had Duncan Racing do a complete top and bottom end rebuild which included the Eliminator kit. I never rode it in San Diego and when I moved to Utah and starting doing the engine break in, I didn’t have the jetting right and with less than an hour of run time it seized from being too lean. T&N Performance in Ogden, UT, who is well known for fast Quadzillas, did a complete teardown. T&N builds bikes a little different than Duncan Racing and he builds for big power and speed so some of the Duncan Racing parts were removed and put in a box. Since T&N’s build, I have only ran it for about 25 minutes to do a few short heat cycles and to let T&N listen to it and make jetting adjustments. It runs on 114 octane fuel at a 50:1 mix with Klotz Super Techniplate per T&N’s instructions. · Lightened flywheel (Duncan Racing) · Hinson billet clutch basket w/ DR clutch kit (Duncan Racing) · New transmission gears, shift fork, clips, bearings, seals, gaskets, connecting rod, wristpin bearing (Duncan Racing) · New crankshaft that was balanced and welded with bushed cases and new bearings (T&N Performance) · Perches welded on rear of cylinder base to reinforce it for the added horsepower (T&N Performance) · Cylinder/Head stud upgrade to 12mm (Duncan Racing) · Heavy port and polish work for sand dragging (T&N Performance) · Cylinder bored and honed to 529cc with Wiseco piston kit (T&N Performance) · Paul Turner Powerhead that was O-ringed by T&N to eliminate OEM head gasket · Boyesen power reeds · Reed spacer · Mikuni 44mm carb bored to 46mm by T&N · K&N clamp on air filter with outerwear · Paul Turner exhaust (chromed) · Paul Turner Fat Boy 2 silencer · Works front and rear suspension · Plastics, seat, and frame in great condition · Chrome parts: swingarm, axle, a-arms, engine case covers, kick starter, brake pedal, rear grab bar, handlebar top plate, Duncan Racing Throttle assembly · Aluminum parts: gas cap w/ breather, shifter, front bumper · MSR handlebars, clutch perch, and lever · 2 complete sets of polished aluminum rims (front and rear) – one set with dirt tires and one set with sand tires · Modquad billet inline temp gauge · New EBC rear brake disc, Tusk rear brake pads, Primary Drive sprockets, Primary Drive chain, OEM chain guide, Primary Drive chain rollers, rear stainless steel brake line, Pivot Works front wheel bearings, Motion Pro clutch cable, OEM coolant hoses · Tusk parking brake block off plate · Extra fluids · A few boxes of mixed new and old parts which include complete front brake assembly, stock head, stock Keihin 38mm carb with throttle cable, Pyramid reed valve assembly, Duncan Racing Keihin 39mm PWK bored to 40.5mm and super flowed with jet kit and throttle cable, billet exhaust clamp, extra dome for power head, stock air box with Duncan Racing clamp on adaptor, (2) K&N air filters for Duncan Racing clamp on adaptor w/ outerwear, extra gaskets, random hardware · Full service manual on pdf http://duncanracing.com/buyersguide/suzuki-lt500.html http://tandnperformance.com/ Email me with any questions and I’ll respond by email or phone if you leave your number.
