Vehicle Detail

A very reluctant seller here.....This is one of my toys being sold as a necessity to supplement income. This car has been going through a restoration process for a few years now. The body was near perfect before it was recently (last year) professionally stripped down to bare metal and re-painted in red. There was absolutely no rust on the car, and had only 1 minor ding on the lip of the drivers side fender. The car looks absolutely superb. I tried to get paint reflection pictures (to show mirror finish) as pictures simply do not do this car justice. The car has had much work done on the chassis as can be seen in pictures. The previous owner had been going through the suspension and brakes and completed the job with care. While the pictures do show new bushings etc., they also show dust and dirt on the otherwise clean paint work that was completed when the chassis was done. A steam clean, or wash would have been good, but alas, I just took the pictures. The new professionally rebuilt carburetors were just installed, but have not been tuned in yet. The car runs a bit rich, but while I feel confident of the installation, I do not have the expertise of adjustment. Some things I feel are better left to the professionals; or at least after spending thousands to get this car to this point, why skimp on fine tuning? I removed the lower seat cover to expose the blemishes on the passenger side seat. Both seats are original (as far as I am aware), and are in very good condition considering their age. My intent was to rebuild the seats with leather, and was one of my next projects. Projects like these are not an option for me any more....at this time anyway. I was laid off work last year, and recently took a job for far less money. To add insult to injury my wife was laid off just after I started work again a few months ago. So, one by one my prized possessions will be sold off one by one just to make the house payment. Don't mean to bring sour grapes into my auction, but they are very sour grapes indeed. This car will make someone very happy. The previous owner as well as myself have put a lot of time and care into this TR6 to get her where she is today. I believe I have a stack of receipts for all of the work the previous owner had done, I will try to locate them. As for the work I did, I don't think I kept the receipts but the work done speaks for itself. I did (had done professionally) the paint work, as well as carburetors etc. Saving the receipts didn't seem important as I never intended to sell. That being said, I may still have them floating about the garage somewhere, and I will see if I can find them. There are a couple of minor issues that I should point out. The car has a couple of snaps missing on the chrome finisher (pictured) for the two front most top snaps. Also, the top has a couple of tears at a couple of snaps...one snap is missing. Otherwise the top looks good (but for a couple of blemishes) and operates well. The muffler has a dent (but works) as some monkey with a jack thought it was a good place to try and lift the car. The car also has a couple of electrical issues that I never looked into, one the fan don't work, and two the red ignition light stays on. I have always found Lucas issues easy to fix, but just haven't got to it. I know I should, but my heart just isn't in it. I would be happy to answer any questions about the car, and it can bee seen by appointment in Hollister California. The MGB in the picture is a 1980 chrome bumper conversion that also was just recently painted. That car I DID by the leather interior before times took a bad turn. The MGB was also stripped down to metal, also had no rust. I will do what I can to get it complete soon for auction. Or if you're watching Jay Leno, make me an offer for both. This auction is listed with honesty and sadness. I will expect a down payment (if payment is not in full) within 24 hours of auctions end. Full payment is expected within 5 working days of auctions end. Car is being sold as is where is. Shipping is a workable option at winning bidders expense. I will do what ever I can to help.
