Vehicle Detail
This clean head-turning classic car has been a life-long Californian and hardly has any rust. I have a shoulder injury and this car does not have power steering, so I'm ready to find a new home for it. In the meantime, it's making my muscles gigantic. Great for surfing, camping or work, this tank holds A LOT of stuff! The odometer stopped working at about 151k mi. The engine was rebuilt about 20k+/- miles ago and the engine bay is dry and clean. It has been converted from a fuel injector to a very reliable carbureted engine. Recent front brake work performed, but the brake light remains on. The interior is in really good condition for its age. The engine runs great. Manual transmission 4 speed shifts great. New radiator never overheats. New Goodyear tires. The heater works amazingly well. Straight with some evidence of body work. The 1973 Volvo 145 in fair condition appraises at $3400. Smog exempt. Registered last month. Clear title in hand. Thanks for looking. Here are some videos featuring this beautiful classic relic: This video is the engine starting and running: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7EXGuoIImY Close-up Car Music Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBFbOP6hGuk More pics can be found at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/uninvitedsaint/sets/72157625261266040/ Here are some q&a about the car: Q: Is the transmission 4 speed or 4 w/ Overdrive? A: Hi. Good question. It is 4 speed, no overdrive. Q: hi What is the condition of the underside of the car? Specifically door bottoms, rocker panels and floor pans? Was the car originally orange? Thanks A: The underside is still mostly undercoated so it's in great condition. I don't see any damage to the door bottoms, rocker panels and floor pans. There is very little rust to bottom inside door jams as shown in the photos and video. Its original color is orange. Thanks for looking! Q: Hey, I was wondering about fuel efficiency and also if you knew how long ago the odometer stopped? Out of curiousity, why are you selling? Thanks, S A: The odometer stopped working when the engine was rebuilt 20k+/- ago. I haven't figured out how many miles to the gallon it gets. I'm selling because I have a shoulder injury and it's too big for me and doesn't have power steering. Thanks for looking! Q: Does the rear defrost and wiper work? A: Hi. The rear wiper is not currently working. The rear washer works, the rear defrost doesn't. Q: Were you the one that changed the engine to carburated? If so, why was that done and what kind of engine is in the car now. Also, what do you think (approx) the mileage is on it. Thanks! A: Hi. I'm not the one who did the engine, the guy before me did, and he said the rebuilt converted engine had about 20k mi on it and that the car had 171k mi. The reason the carb conversion was done on a lot of these old volvos is that the fuel injector parts got expensive and hard to find.
