OK...PLEASE read carefuly. I buy cars from the insurance auction. I purchased this car and the photos were not very good. Well I paid 10,000.00 for it 3 years ago (it was then worth $17,000.00 with a UN Salvage title)....when I got it I felt used. It is not a pretty car. It has a salvage title because a tree fell on the roof. They did not replace it and repaired it. I purchased it with about 45,000 miles. I did not know wht to do. I knew for sure I will take a loss. I have been driving the car every day for these 3 years. I learned to like the car. It has had a eng light on the whole time. I paid $1,200.00 for VW to repair what ever is wrong and they have not been able to find anything. They tell me these cars flip on the light over hardly nothing.....however I would not hesitate to drive this car accross the USA....because I know the car. This would be a perfect work car for someone....or someone with talents and time to make it pretty again. I did have the whole car painted and it looks a lot better....but not pretty. Now I have to tell you I sell mostly expensive cars. My daughter came to visit a few days and she loved the little car. As U know JUST an engine from this car with this low miles would sell for $3,500.00 to $4,000.00.....however we have a whole car that has A/C, Radio etc. The car would be angry with me for talking about her like this....but I feel I need to make it woprst than it may be. When cleaned it does look...OK. This is a GOOD car...NOT pretty. Please understand me....if you need a good car that gets about 50 MPG and plenty power and U are not one that goes to the country club....and U need a GOOD car...this is it IMPORTANT Several have contacted me about the damage....THINKING it has not been repaired. The car has been repaired....the car does drive and all doors close and all things work...the car is FINE...I just want you to know it is NOT a LIKE NEW looking car. If U know and look close U can tell the whole car was repainted....AGAIN, I say the car is NOT pretty....but it is NOT ugly. AND one more thing. I had a chance to buy another set of seats. I have paid $550.00 for them....if U like BEFORE you pick up the car....I can have them put in and U pay an extra $200.00. The seats in it are OK...however I was going to keep the car and , as you know, this car will go for an easy 400,000 miles....or more if U take good care of it. I purchased the seats when I 1st got the car. While waiting I cleaned the seats and they look fine. The OTHER set looks way nicer...again...THEY are NOT BAD. If we are not looking for fancy looking car and VERY good transportation...this it. There is a part of me telling me to keep it. It is fun to not care if you get a door ding....or the cost of fuel.
