Vehicle Detail

Condition - It is average in appearance with rust on the hood and rear quarter panels. (See pics) The exhaust is LOUD!!! I drove it home from the mechanic the other night and the exhaust pipe broke (see pics) and started dragging. See estimate for details. The passenger window goes up really slowly. I wouldn't use it since the window electric motor might die soon (see estimate). The air conditioner works, but it doesn't seem to get really cold. It is good enough for Michigan summers. The car has been in a smoke free environment the last 7+ years. The radio works, but the volume will drop on occasion and the speakers will have lots of static in them. The 6 CD changer works fine, but the speakers' volume is really low. It could be a cabling issue. The rear defroster works except for one line. The power moonroof works fine. There are dings in the doors and the paint has lost its luster. Don't pull too hard on the hood release - there is no popping or clicking sound, just have faith that the switch released. The hood release needs to be pressed in once the hood is closed because the switch might not be secure. The car is in good running shape and the engine doesn't burn any oil. I took the car on a 600 mile trip on Labor Day (300 miles to the Mackinac Bridge and back). Recently, I was about to take it in for an oil change and then I had the LOUD exhaust issue. There is a scratch on the windshield where the lower part of the wiper blades moved against it and a little BB sized mark where an object hit the windshield. The interior is fine, except for a slight tear on the driver's seat. The car gets about 32 mpg on long freeway trips and about 26 mpg city driving. Features - It has the 6 CD changer and a rear spoiler (not pictured). The spoiler was removed by the previous owner who thought it was "kid's stuff". I put on 15" Honda factory alloy wheels and Yokohama tires on it. The tires have about 24,000 miles on them. I will include the regular set of 14" tires and wheels if they are desired. The car seems to get a little better gas mileage with the old set of wheels on it. History - I bought the car in February of 2003 from a 20 year old who said his Dad was buying him a BMW. I've put on almost half of the car's 166,111 miles as I bought the car with 83,727 on it. The Michigan winters haven't been too kind to the car and it has not been garaged at any point since I bought it. I've had numerous repairs on the car and I just don't want to put any more money into it. The car must have been in a major accident early on as it is a salvage title (which the seller didn't inform me until I showed up at his house with the bank cashier's check). I've had a couple of minor accidents (ran into a curb a couple of times) with the car, but no collisions. Maybe you can fix the car cheaper than the mechanic's estimate. The car is being sold AS-IS. Shipping & payment - The car would need to be shipped probably or towed. If you did drive it, you'd have to wear ear plugs and tie up the dragging pipes & catalytic converter. (Plus, you risk being stopped by the police because of the noise.) I accept cash or cashier's check from a bank. You'll have to make your own arrangements for shipping.
