1971 Triumph Bonneville

This was the classic type of customizing done in the '70's. Aftermarket headlite and tailite. Short rear fender, Higher bars. Professionally done flame job on the tank. There is wear and minor scratches on the bike, but it's in good shape for what it is. There was low compression when I got the bike, so I pulled the head and found almost new pistons in a good bore, but the rings were stuck. I ran a hone thru and installed new rings. The carbs have been soaked and new jets installed. The bike runs great but is hard to start. If the bid gets to or above $2400, I will install two brand new carbs from Baxter Cycle. The trans shifts very smoothly The speedo and tach show 3600 miles but I know the milage is much more, but these clocks are worth at least 150 bucks each. If you know what you're bidding on, this will be a fun toy. If you're concerned about originality, then you need to be looking for a '70 or older bike, but double the money.
