Vehicle Detail

1971 Plymouth Gran Coupe Fury Custom. Original 360 motor is stock and has 243k on it. I have owned it for the last 18 years. Original blue plated California car. Fury runs and drives and is a real cruiser and head turner - seats 5 comfortably! Motor runs decent but would run better with a rebuild. The camshaft is worn down with age. The motor has solid motor mounts and dual exhaust that dumps down before the rear axle. The combo of the mounts and exhaust make the car vibrate and gives it that great throaty V8 sound. Three speed automatic trans was rebuilt a few years back. The transmission takes about 10 seconds to warm up in drive each morning. I was told by the transmission shop this is normal for these cars. It has power steering. Color - Black on Black - Last painted 13 years ago. The car does need some minor body work due to a few small dings and dents, but nothing major. There is a small rust spot starting on the hood and trunk and is easily fixable. The trunk floor has a few small rust troughs. I would feel safe hopping in and driving it anywhere the way it is (I have been driving it around cruising to work occasionally). Tires are brand new with less than 2000 miles on them. It has original A/C but it is not working. The custom vinyl top has snaps and Velcro to hold it in place. It can be driven in light rain without a problem. I usually park it inside or place a small tarp over the top if parked during heavy down-pours. The front end can be lowered by turning two screws stock on these cars. The rear has air shocks that can be pumped up or let out to control height. The interior lights, headlights, turn signals, brake lights, etc. all work. The windshield wipers work. The heater and fan work. The brakes are good. The speedometer started humming over 40mph a bit ago and most likely needs to be taken apart and oiled. The interior is in great shape - The front bench seat has been replaced with seats from an early Plymouth valiant. I shaved the mounts on the seats to drop them to the floor as far as they could go to give that low rider feeling Very comfortable! The seats are mounted in place and do not move forward. Both front and rear have been reupholstered a few years back along with new carpet. The dash has several cracks in it and I have painted it to make it look better. Limo tint on all the windows including a strip on the windshield. Music sounds great in this car thanks to the acoustics of the curved rear roof! The head unit is a brand new JVC MP3 CD player with remote. A JVC power amp is mounted in the trunk and powers four 6x9 speakers on the rear deck. The head unit powers two more 5x6's in the front side floor. Registered til Oct 2011. No smog required. This would make a great movie car or cruise your new friends to the club! I am listing this for a friend, so any questions can be emailed directly to him at porf@porf.com. Buyer responsible for shipping arrangements, or drive her home!
