Vehicle Detail

1962 Studebaker Gran Tursimo Hawk "Daily Driver". Older restoration, White with blue interior. I purchased this car in July 2007 from Vanguard motors, who obtained it from the second owner. I paid just over $10,000.00 for it and have driven it trouble-free just about every day since then. At the time of purchase the engine had been rebuilt and new exhaust installed. It has been a big hit in parades and is a head-turner on the road. I am selling it because I have gone back to school and will be moving soon. This is not a show car, the paint looks good from a distance but up-close you can see checking, and some bondo areas around the rocker panels in the usual areas. The car rides really nice and the engine runs strong, has a slow oil drip typical of this model. All guages work, but the tach needs a new send unit or adjustment and the clock is intermittent ad needs to be cleaned. I recently installed new heater ducting, the heater motor is removed and I have the working original and a spare to go with the car, a job I did not have time to finish. Bottom line, if you want a really pretty GT Hawk to drive as-is, tinker with, or restore, this one should make you happy! On Nov-04-10 at 15:21:58 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: This car has an automatic transmission. The listing title says "auto" but somehow the wrong box got checked on categories, and now I can't change it. Sorry for any confusion. On Nov-05-10 at 15:30:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note, several people have asked about International shipping. I said I would check it out, but it turns out to be too complicated for me to work with now as I have very limited time, so I will have to restrict to US shipping only as originally stated, with buyer responsible for arranging pickup. Sorry if this causes any confusion. -Bart On Nov-08-10 at 07:55:05 PST, seller added the following information: Since I have had more questions, I am going to clarify again on the shipping. I am absolutely fine with anyone from anywhere buying the car as long as you have good e-Bay feedback and are willing to arrange to have it picked up here (Yountville, California). If you work it through a reputable and experienced shipping company, it should be fine. Just please don't ask me to provide estimates, set up the shipping for you, drive the car to a seaport terminal etc. I am preparing to move, and just can't take the time to do that. Also, it would be best if the car is picked up not later than November 20th. I will be traveling after that date, and would have to have a friend take care of it for me. It can be done, but I'd prefer to have everything wrapped up by then. Thanks again for understanding, I just want everyone to be happy! : ) -Bart
