Up for sale is a 2001 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer in great condition. I purchased the vehicle brand new from the dealership in April 2002. I'm the only owner / driver, and can answer any questions about it. It has never been wrecked, flooded, etc., and has a clear title. Contact me anytime @ 504-231-9979 It has never broken down or needed any repairs/replacement parts besides normal scheduled maintenance. Both engine and transmission are good, oil level stays constant between changes and has never needed oil added. I have very meticulously kept up with all the routine maintenance since day 1, which is probably why I have not had a single problem for almost 140k miles. I have a stack of service records that can be provided (see picture) showing all the oil changes, tire replacements/rotations, transmission fluid changes, coolant flushes, rear diff. fluid changes, new brakes, fuel filter changes, fuel line flushes, etc. I just had a brand new battery installed 2 weeks ago and changed the oil this week before listing the vehicle for sale. The tires still have lots of tread life left. On 10/27/10 it was professionally detailed (washed, waxed, carpets shampooed, leather conditioned, and entire interior wiped and polished) and has been garage kept. It has 4.0L V6 engine and rear wheel drive which gives the best MPG's available on a real SUV (truck frame). It is rated at 16/21 MPG, but I average 17 to 23 as shown on the center console LCD diagnostics screen. Since the popularity of crossover vehicles, no new mid/full size SUV's including explorers have the option of a V6 engine, so if you want the best gas mileage on a truck frame SUV, this is it. The vehicle has a extensive after market stereo system described below. It has a standard headphone jack cable as well that runs up to the driver seat allowing use of an Ipod, Iphone, MP3 player, smart phone, etc. I will include all the paperwork for equipment so the buyer can tune the system to his or her own liking. I also can provide all the receipts of the equipment for insurance purposes. If the winning bidder does not want the stereo system, I will cover the cost to have it removed provided that the buyer pays a deposit beforehand that will be deducted from the final bid amount. The entire speaker box and equalizers mounted to the back seats (shown in pictures) will all be taken out giving maximum cargo space, and the factory radio/CD player will still work as normal with the speakers in the doors. There will be a few slits in the carpet on the backside of the backseats where the wiring was, but there will be no major holes or signs of the equipment being un-installed. I'll also replace the factory Eddie Bauer cargo cover in the rear of the vehicle. Due to the cost of removal, there won't be any discount to the final bid price if the equipment is removed, it's just an option for the winning bidder. The vehicle also has a 2-way Viper 5900 remote start alarm system with LCD screen keychain. The keychain can start the car from up to 1/2 mile away and also will beep, in addition to the alarm's siren under the hood, alerting if a window has been broken or door opened when the alarm is set. It also has a starter kill which guarantees the car will not start when the alarm is set. This is not legal in most states, although a permit can be obtained for it under certain circumstances. I am not responsible for any legal violations if the buyer chooses not to remove the tint or obtain a permit after completion of the sale of the vehicle The vehicle is in overall excellent condition, but I'll note the wear and tear on it. The center console armrest has about a 1.5" crack in it. The front driver seat has a 1" tear in the leather between the legs. The hood has a few dings that could be removed with paintless dent repair if desired. They are not very obvious. The windshield is cracked, in the top corners and single U shaped crack in the center. It does not inhibit driving or vision at all though. The passenger side door has some minor cracking under the handle, it's not very bad, but worth mentioning. There's a black scuff on the rear driver wheel well and back fender. The driver door lock sometimes sticks when unlocking with the remote, but a second click or key turn opens it. All the defects can be seen in the pictures, although some may not be noticeable unless you are looking for them. The most notable is probably the windshield. Payment and Delivery:A $250 paypal deposit is due upon auction end. The remaining payment must be made by certified cashier's check. The vehicle is currently located in Oklahoma City, OK and can be picked up by the buyer. The buyer can also arrange to have a shipping company pick it up from me after full payment is received.
