Vehicle Detail

This car has been in an inside self storage facility since around 1989 or so. The North Carolina inspection expired in 1987, the Camp Lejeune base sticker expired in 1988, and the Georgia tags were kept current until 1992. When we pulled this car from the storage facility we put it on the lift to remove the gas tank to check its condition before starting this car. To my suprise, the tank was still very clean, maybe because of the leaded gas back then? Anyway, we replaced the fuel hoses, rebuilt the carb, changed the oil, and installed a new set of spark plugs. The 350 motor runs very well, and the turbo 350 transmission shifts great also. While i had it in the air, i notices some wear on one of the front tires and wound up replacing the center link. I have scrounged up a set of the 15 inch Pontiac ralley wheels, and had them sand blasted, that will also go with the car. The tires on it will need to be replaced because of age, but the wheels are fine if you like them. The previous owner has installed some various chrome pieces, and an Edelbrock intake with a small Holley carb in the engine compartment. The a.c. is on the car, and complete, and I would imagine to be fine with some freon installed. On the interior, the off white front buckets, and rear seat are in good condition. Some of the plastic trim has deteriorated, and could use a little attention. The headliner is in good condition, but it is stained from sitting. There is no radio, although the dash has NOT been cut on. Basically, the interior would need a good cleaning, a couple pieces of trim, maybe a new carpet, and a radio. The exterior is in nice shape, although not perfect. It does look like it has been painted sometime during its life. I does show fairly well though. I have not cleaned this car up, just took the first layer of dirt off the outer body so i could see thru the windshield. There is no rot in the trunk, just dirty, and will need a new seal. Over all this car would be a nice driver with minimal work, parts, and some cleaning up. When i had it in the air, i looked for rot, and there is none! Just a nice older car. Please call me with any questions, Thanks, Bob. 910-326-2881On Oct-27-10 at 19:09:21 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple things. Although the odometer says 43,255, there is no way to gurantee this to be accurate. And just to let you know, you are getting close to the reserve, after only 1 day, so i feel sure this car is going to sell. I am not attached to the car, we are 4 wheel drive guys here. Thanks again!
