Here is your chance to get into a very distinctive, fun and reliable car. Everyone smiles when they see you driving this car; people wave and point and grin. Herbie has been my wife's car since 2003, when she had a local sign shop decal the car in high quality vinyl, using the correct font to replicate the "53" on the doors, hood and hatch. My wife has always been a Love Bug fan, and has twice driven the car to Mid America's Funfest in Effingham, and on the Hot Rod Power tour three times. We have twin four year old girls and they are outgrowing the car, so we are forced to sell. Here is the good: - just replaced the timing belt, water pump and thermostat (as you likely know, these are all problem areas with 2.0 motors, where the impeller breaks on the water pump) - the car has been religiously serviced every 3000 miles - K&N air filter - everything works: sunroof, radio, lights, A/C blows cold, etc Here's the bad: - vinyl decals are showing some age; still look good from a short distance but they are beginning to fade and crack - interior is worn (twin girls will do that!); the driver door panel pull-handle is broken - check engine light is on: P0420 Catalyst Efficiency - air bag light just recently came on, code unknown This would likely make a teenage girl an awesome and dependable car.
