Vehicle Detail
Up for NO RESERVE AUCTION is my 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Truck. I bought this truck off of ebay about five or six years ago. The truck had around 95,000 miles the paint on the roof of the cab and the pillars was about the same as it is now, peeling. I used the truck for commuting and for hauling inventory for my business. I pulled a trailer with it maybe a dozen times and it worked great! I had to install an OEM transmission from Dodge around 115,000 miles and that was done at a local shop. I installed an aftermarket transmission cooler a few years ago when the oringinal one was leaking. I had new tires installed at around 100,000 miles. The tires still have good tread on them but are showing some uneven wear. Instaled a new caliper on the driver's side three years ago, I broke the rear window slider latch when I locked the keys in the truck and had to get in. I have it wired shut now. The air conditioning works great and blows cold, the door locks and power windows work great. Truck drives great down the road and gets great mileage(19-23mpg on the interstate at 70 miles an hour). Radio, speakers, cruise control, power seat, power windows, lights(interior and exterior) work fine. All the glass is in good shape with the windshield having a couple of small rock chips. The Bad Things: The transmission shifts fine but will once in a while will shift between drive and overdrive...Overdrive is very strong doesn't slip or skip or anything like that. It needs some attention in that department. I talked with a transmission guy last year and he said that they can flash the computer to de-sensitize the throttle position sensor. Haven't tried it because I haven't driven the truck much at all. The transmission does not slip at all, each gear is strong. I broke the rear window slider latch when I locked the keys in the truck and had to get in. I have it wired shut now. The fuel guage shows full when the tank is full, then quickly drops off to empty after 100-150 miles or so. This has been this way since I've owned the truck and it never really bothered me. The head liner cloth is falling down, and there are a couple of burn marks in the two seats. The truck doesn't smell like smoke at all, this all happened before I owned the truck. A deer ran into the drivers door a few years ago and dented it. Another deer hit two years ago to the front doesn't affect driving but bent front bumper and the plastic bumper guards. Didn't affect the front grill or hood. Portion of the bumper was pushed back but not far enough to hurt anything. The air conditioning works great and blows cold, the door locks and power windows work great. Truck drives great down the road and gets great mileage(19-23mpg on the interstate at 70 miles an hour). Deer hit two years ago doesn't affect driving but bent front bump and bumper guards. Bumper was pushed back but not into the radiator. SO: This truck runs and drives well, is very solid as can be seen by the photos, kit needs some work here and there but is overall pretty good shape. Please ask any questions and this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION and is sold AS IS to the highest bidder. I have the clear title in my hand and I wouldn't be afraid to drive this truck anywhere. Good luck! -tnorvold
