Vehicle Detail
Please read carefully, and completey for best description, and then if there are any questions, please feel free to contact me. One 1979 Ford F250/F350 4x4 regular cab pickup truck with an 8 foot box. Truck is equipped with a rebuilt 460 V8 engine (with reciepts) out of a 74 F250 2wd camper special with minimal miles, and also has a rebuilt C6 automatic transmission. I have this truck listed correctly as a F250 by title, but I have also incooperated a sound Dana 60 kingpin front axle, which would constitute an F350 to anyone that knows about Dana 60's. Both axles have 4.10 gears, good brakes, and the ebrake even works as well. The trucks engine has been rebuilt as mentioned with an rv cam, and also includes a Edlebrock Perfomer intake, and a Edlebrock 750 CFM electric choke carberator. It does carry excellent oil pressure. The carb works well, and it fires right up, and kicks down when desired, but I did buy it off Craigslist out of state from a guy who claimed it never had fuel ran through it, but the truck experiences a dead spot, or hestiation now while driving just after intial accelleration which when countered with more gas does go away.. (I should have bought it new from summit, but such is life now). I had a 600 carb on it that also worked well, but that was just to small and so I went after the 750. I have also placed the correct kick down mechanism with the carb. This was purchased by me from summit. The truck does have a 4 inch suspension lift, a 3 inch body lift, and front, and rear sway bars, new shocks in all four corners, and dual stabalizers. I have just recently bought 35x16x16.5 Super Swamper Bogger tires on 12 inch wide chrome Bart wheels, but the tires arent presently balanced, and the tires are very choppy as you drive it on pavement. This is my second set of these tires in my history of trucks, and they are not radials, so therefor its typical for them to be very rugged on dry pavement. The truck looks great with them though, and that to me is what I wanted. The frame has been cleaned off, painted gloss black, and has new chrome axle covers. The interior has a reapholstered seat in black, and a tilt steering column as well. There is presenlty no radio in this truck. The truck has been painted about 5 years back a custom 2 tone red with clear coat. The body work does have a few flaws in it, and there is a bubble of paint in just a few areas, but this truck still turns heads daily, and demands attention- always getting the thumbs up. The truck does have a bedliner, and newer dual exhuast that is quiet..The pics do show a few catch pans under the truck, and its because I have it stationed at my parents house, and they are meticulous about any drips, or leaks in the drive. The truck could use newer transmission cooler lines, and the front diff cover has now found a way to seep. These are very simple fixes, and sorry I havent done them, but the truck just sits now, and thats when these issues become more present. Otherwise this is a turn key functional truck. I have many more of these trucks, and I probably only drove this one about 5 times this year.. So that is why I would rather it go to someone who could enjoy it more. The otherside of that story is that I have been looking to buy a house, so you can fiqure out the rest.. The truck is pictured also with diffferent tires here, or there, but is to be sold with the boggers on it unless you specify. I can swap these Super Swampers out for better tire performance with a set of 33 inch BFG All Terrain KO's on polished aluminum 10 wide weld super singles wheels. I just happen to have those tires also, but will not be included in addition, only with the giving me back the 35's that are now under it.. There are 3 pics at the end that show the truck in its original stock ride height form before I lifted it, then again with the same size tires after I had lifted it to show what it would look like with stock tires, plus a pic prooving the engine installation. (Transfer case Beer tap shifter not included... That is my own personal touch that will go in another truck).. Finally this is being sold as is, where is, and without any warranty (because of its age naturally, as if this should be any surprise). The papers are clean, and in hand, and I do prefer that this truck be picked up within 1 week of auctions end please. Winner is responsible for pickup- no delivery is available-sorry, and a deposit of $500 will be expected within 24 hours of auctions end. I will issue an invoice to the winner for the deposit, and the remaining balance will be made in person in cash only please.. Any other questions; I am available, thanks for clickin', and have a great day!On Oct-21-10 at 05:03:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions in regards to the engine, and or transmission rebuilds, so let me give you a detailed idea.. The engine was donated from (my mistake) a 75 F250 2wd extended cab pickup. I still have the title for the truck to show as well. The truck was only used to haul a race car to a local track, and the engine was rebuilt back in 1986 by a well known local machine shop. I just looked over the reciepts again, and it was bored .030 over, an edlbebrock (part no. is noted) 2167 cam kit was installed, a complete cleaning, new pistons, a valve job on the heads, new cam bearing, and rod, and main bearings.. The transmission was said to have been rebuilt before I bought the truck, but ironically the name given is also a well know transmission man in my area. As if the story doesnt get any more sweet, I work with the son of the guy that did the rebuild. Hopefully this clears things up... Thanks again for all your interest..
