It was purchased in 1955 here locally in Monona Iowa and sold to the original owners nephiew in 1977 with 31k miles on it. It was sold due the original owner turning 86 and could not drive any more. The nephew ,who now is 88 himself can not not drive any longer either and sold it to me with 51k original miles. I knew of the car being that the owner is a fellow member of the Allamakee Antique Car Club. I shared many good times in parades and overnighters with the owner over the years. He has kept this car up A-1 mechanically( can be driven anywhere.) When he purchased it in 1977, he had the car repainted the same color as the factory code ( navaho tan poly bottom, #21206, the top he changed from india ivory#8026 to white.) It has the original cloth upholstery that is like new ( original plastic covers can still be seen at the bottom of seat.) the head liner and door panels are like new. The dash looks like new. All of the gauges work including blinkers, headlights, wipers, etc.). I noticed the rear driver taillight has a small crack and there is a dime size paint chip above the same light, both are pictured. I found no rust in the floor pans, frame or trunk. The car has been parked indoors when not in use since 1977. It has a radio, tires are like new, and you will notice in my pictures and video all of the oil change stickers documenting the miles since new. The paint is not show quality but definitely a 5 footer. I noticed a bubble in the lower rocker under the rear passenger door (picture will show) and to the best of the previous owners knowledge when he had it painted 20 years ago, very little filler was used. There is a little minor over spray on some of the rubber moldings which will be shown in the pictures and video. I have elected not to detail the engine compartment, trunk, or interior because I wanted you to see just how good this car was taken care of. This is for sure a entry level car club, pleasure driver, or show car because of all of its originality, dependability, and driveability. It is a total numbers matching car and it has a clean and clear Iowa title showing registration in 1977 from the nephew and is currently registered up to date. The car also comes with the original owners manual. This car comes with the original 1950's window shades(aluminum) and snow chains as seen in the pictures. I would rate the interior of this car very high quality. The quality of the chrome is very high with no rust or pitting and shines good. The glass is in great shape with no cracks or chips and the windows go up and down with ease. The doors shut and seal like they should with no sagging.
