Vehicle Detail
I have owned the Scout for 5 years, bought and shipped from Iowa. It kills me to have to sell it, I'll never be able to buy this nice a scout again. But I just don't have the time or funds to continue enjoying it. At that time it was bought and shipped, it had a new paint job. It has minor scratches here and there. Since then, it has new tires, new dual exhaust, rebuilt starter, new fuel sending unit (needs to be wired for fuel guage to work), new steering wheel, a "steer straight" bought and installed, and lined the back with herculiner. The original tan checkered seat fabric is in excellent condition, however, the vinyl portion has seperated from the fabric, so I am using seat covers at this time. Only areas of surface rust are under the vehicle, the area under the floorboard carpet looks like new paint. I also have new Scout formed carpet for the front area (not installed), a new radio and speakers (not installed), and a new transmission pan. It has a IH 345 engine and a 727 auto tranny. I have only driven it on sunny days during the summer since I have had it, roughly 8-9 times a year. Otherwise, it is in the garage under cover. The hardtop has been hanging hoisted in the roof of my garage since day 1. It runs great, doesn't burn oil at all, but has a few areas that will need corrected: The horn does not work. The transmission leaks after it has been driven, seems to be a couple small seals around the shifter cable that depressurize after driving. The new fuel sending unit is installed but needs to be wired. Gaskets under vehicle may be leaky from age. The 4wd is not currently working--no front drive shaft (no idea if he transfer case is working for that matter). I bought it that way and have never had a need since I only drive it in good weather. Real headturner here in VA, haven't seen very many around, none as nice as this one for sure. Much more solid than a Ford Bronco for much less money. If you want to see specific photos, let me know and i will try to take them.
