Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1999 Chevy crew cab long bed. It is a 3500 4X4 with a 5.7 engine and a 4L80 automatic transmission. Has 152k miles with approx. 60k miles on motor. Runs and drives great and has a very clean exterior with interior average to above average. Has manual windows and locks with aftermarket cruise that works well. Power lumbar cloth seats and air condition. I looked a long time for a crew cab non-dually that we could use to pull our 26ft camper. I found this truck and ended up completely going through it to bring up to my standards. I am an ASE master certified automotive Tech and ended up putting a lot of time and money into it. I did not spare much expense because it was the truck I was looking for and was perfect for me and my family. Truck was completely repainted in 2008. It was done professionally and was totally disassembled for repaint. It included removal of all doors, bed removed, fenders and all flares removed. All jambs sprayed and exterior sprayed with original base coat clear coat color and then reassembled. Has spray in bed liner and hard bed liner installed also. New GM grill, door bushings and pins, headlamps and corner lamps installed at time of reassembly. Had new windshield installed also. The body on this truck looks as good as or better than new. I spent about $5,000 alone for paint job not included new parts installed. The suspension and drive line was also gone through and includes the following. -New front hub bearings/ABS sensors, new front upper and lower ball joints (AC Delco). New AC Delco inner and outer tie rod ends and sleeves and stabilizer links. New front rotors and AC Delco brake pads. New Monroe gas magnum shocks all the way around. Two inch leveling keys in front and one inch lift blocks in rear. It gives this truck a very nice stance without the look of a lift. New AC Delco mini starter and new Napa 770cca battery installed. Has had new rear brakes and one new drum and seals installed. New park brake cables, wheel cylinders and all brake hardware installed. Has newer fuel pump and tank module installed when bed was off. Front and rear diff. serviced with synthetic fluid. Transmission filter and fluid serviced. Installed new 265/75/16 Nitto Terra Grappler tires on 2008 Duramax Chevy aluminum wheels .Had wheel alignment after new tires and steering parts installed. New a/c compressor installed about 3k miles ago. About a month ago I installed new a/c condenser and air conditioning lines that sprung a leak. Tried to show picture of plate on side of motor, it was replaced at GM dealer ship in Louisiana in 2006 with GM replacement engine. Motor plate reads a date of 6-22-05,with ID# L35096V4/S00557586. Truck has full trailer tow package on it and is wired for trailer brake but I never installed one. Truck has only been used to pull camper occasionally. I have only put about 5k miles on truck since I finished in 2009. It has not been driven in winter since repainted. I have not listed every little thing done to this truck; I have most all receipts for things done. One minor thing I know about is if truck sits for more than a week or so. It has a hydraulic lifter that will tick for a few seconds sometimes when started cold. Tick quiets after a couple seconds after engine running. Not a problem I considered fixing since it is so minor. The left front seat is starting to show some wear (shown in picture). I would not be afraid to drive this truck anywhere. This truck had a lot of work done to it, probably sounds like it was in bad shape but wasn’t the truth is it was a over 100k mile truck that I made look and drive like a low mileage truck. The only reason I am selling is because about six months ago I received the deal of a life time on a diesel truck from the company I am employed by. I considered keeping truck just because of the amount of time and money I have put into truck. I have decided I really don’t want to store truck in shop again this winter since I really don’t plan on using it next summer. Pictures of suspension/driveline were taken when completed in 2009 approx. 5k miles ago. Pictures of truck body and interior were taken about two weeks ago.
