K2500 454 7.4 BIG BLOCK MOTOR 4X4 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL 4.10 REAR END GEARS 3RD ROW LT TRIM TOW PACKAGE FRONT RECEIVER HITCH TRANSMISSION COOLER FACTORY FUEL TANK SHIELD FACTORY OFF ROAD SKID PLATE CALIFORNIA REGISTRATION UNTIL APRIL 2011 RUBBER FLOOR MATS BOOKS / KEYS / REMOTES I am pleased to offer my very well equipped 1996 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 4X4 LT with the optional 454 (L29) engine for sale. This Suburban has spent its entire life in California, and the condition reflects it. This wonderful Suburban has had two previous owners, never going through an auction or used car dealer. It has stayed in private-party hands all its life. I was fortunate to buy this car from a very nice family and use it for my needs. The previous owner had purchased this Suburban in order to tow a small camper. But he retired a few years ago and bought a RV, making the Suburban unnecessary. That's why the last owner put less than 40,000 miles in 6 years on the car. As a matter of fact, he put 5,000 miles in the last two years! Unfortunately my situation has changed and I no longer need this Suburban. Given the condition, configuration, and options; I really hate to sell it as this setup is very hard to find...especially in this condition. I looked at many Suburbans over a few months before I found this one. I now know that there is a lot of junk out there! This Suburban is not only a California car, but the body panels appear to be all original too. It has never been in an accident. There is NO dull or peeling paint/clear-coat here. The previous owner serviced this Suburban in a timely fashion, and so have I. Before putting this car up for sale, I took it to my mechanic and had him go through the entire car; taking care of anything that needed to get done. I have all the paperwork for the recent services. Also, the reliability of the K2500 chassis with the optional motor is much better than a regular Suburban. The K2500 uses the 4L80E transmission, which is designed for heavy duty work compared to the 4L60E found in 1500 versions. In addition, the transmission cooler and more powerful engine reduce the total load placed on critical components. This is the perfect truck that can take your entire family and tow a boat or trailer without any stress. Note that this Suburban has the optional 4.10 gears in the rear end. This means that you are going to have a very easy time both accelerating and towing with this truck. But even with these gears, at 75MPH the RPMs are at roughly 2500. So the engine is turning comfortably. The overall condition of this Suburban is very good (in my option). The typical problems you see with most Suburbans are not present here. Just to give you a few examples: the glovebox is not broken, the stereo knobs are not missing or broken, the center console is not broken, no cracks in the dash or windshield, the power hatch release works, the overhead console is complete, all handles and ashtrays are present and working...and so forth. Just look at the pictures to get a feel for the condition please. SOME OF THE FEATURES AND OPTIONS ON THIS SUBURBAN INCLUDE: - 3/4 ton chassis - 454 big block engine - Limited slip differential - Heavy duty trailering equipment - California emissions - Folding center seats - 4.10 rear axle ratio (factory option) - Heavy duty transmission cooler - Center Line aluminum wheels - Smittybilt chrome running boards - Upgraded 265 width tires (compared to 245 stock) with at least 50% tread - Factory tinted windows - Roof luggage carrier - Power door locks, mirrors, windows - Front AND rear AC - Auto dimming rearview mirror with compass - 6-way power driver's seat - CD player - ABS - Driver's airbag - Full size spare - Rubber GM floormats with Husky rubber cargo liner - Factory two tone color combination - Leather - Remote keyless entry - Fuel tank shield (factory option) - Off road skid plate (factory option) - Leather steering wheel - Draw-Tite Activator II Electronic Brake Control - Chrome running boards As you can see, this truck is very well equipped to serve just about anyone's needs. Also, the previous owner installed a K&N air filter along with a Flowmaster muffler. The muffler has dual inputs and dual outputs, letting the big block breath easier while producing more power and better throttle response. The muffler is not loud at all and does not drone. In addition, the previous owner installed the running boards and the upgraded wheels. I believe (from what I've read) that these aluminum wheels are forged. If that is the case, then they are VERY strong and will handle just about any load; especially given the larger tire size. Also, with aluminum wheels they can be polished to a brilliant shine. Be sure to check out the Autocheck score and compare it to the others for sale. Given the condition, miles and options, it may be a while before you see another Suburban like this. Please note that the owner's manual, 2 keys, and 2 factory keyless remotes are all included. ALSO, THIS SUBURBAN HAS FULLY BEEN SERVICED IN THE LAST YEAR. SOME OF THE WORK INCLUDES: - Oil and filter change - K&N air filter cleaning - Under chassis lube - Transmission service (complete flush, new filter, new gasket, and new fluid) - New axle booths for both front axles - New high pressure power steering hose - New exterior driver's door handle - AC valve replacement - Suspension toe adjustment by alignment shop - Smog check (passed with flying colors) - New rear tire (less than a month old) There is probably more that I can't remember. My mechanic also said that the brakes have 2/3 left and the tires have around 60% left. I have included a whole bunch of pictures for your reference. Keep in mind that the registration in California is good until April of next year, so you don't have to worry about that DMV fee! I have the title in hand and ready to be signed over. Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions. You can email or call me at 8 1 8 6 3 6 7 3 six zero. Please take a look at the eBay included Autocheck report to verify yourself the authenticity and originality of this truck. This Suburban has 144,100 miles, which works out to roughly 10,000 miles a year. Having said this, my belief is that this Suburban is in a very good shape. You will be hard pressed to find another one like it...I promise you. I've set a low reserve. This is nowhere near Kelly Blue Book. I'm not trying to get the maximum value that some people are trying to get. I know with the miles, condition, and options this truck is probably worth over $6K. My reserve is nowhere near that. Please keep in mind that anytime you have a car that has a few years and miles on it, it is not going to be a new car. You can expect some light scratches and dings (like with any used car). Also, the AC has a leak which I believe to be the compressor gasget. When I charged it the compressor would work and I would get ice cold air (in the front and back), so I know the system is fine. We also inspected the lines that run to the back, and there were no leaks there. I just haven't had time to take it back and get the gaskets replaced. My mechanic moved recently and he is farther away, making logistics difficult. I think the gasket kit is less than $15 and the labor is minimal to replace the gaskets.
