Vehicle Detail
1974 Alfa Romeo GTV Track Vintage Race or Street I am listing this Alfa Romeo for a friend. He is a perfectionist in his work and it really shows. I have 100% feedback on the over 400 items that I have sold and am listing this as if it was my own. The last picture you will see is of my Giulia Super that he painted in 2009, which won its class in the 2009 AROC Nat’l Convention Concours . The GTV was sold new in California and was an original black car, which is fairly rare. It came to the PNW in 2000. The present owner purchased it in 2003 and began the restoration which was completed in 2005. Here are the highlights: Body · Stripped to bare metal and the two rusty areas were replaced with new metal; the driver’s floor and a small patch at the base of the rear window. The body was very straight and only had some minor damage to the left front fender. · Side marker lights were removed and resulting holes filled · Rear gas cap door removed and replaced with solid metal. · Rear trunk floor was modified to take a 10 gal fuel cell with custom aluminum container and the battery was relocated for better weight distribution in a custom box mounted in the old fuel tank location. · The driving lights were removed and stainless steel mesh was installed to direct cool air to the carburetors and engine compartment. · The lower grills were backed with stainless Steel mesh to give it that GTA look. · The plan was to paint the car black as it was originally, so the engine compartment, trunk compartment, door jams as well as the underside of the hood & trunk were painted gloss black. The interior and floor were painted in a grey epoxy. After assembling the car it was decided to leave the car in the matt primer. It would take a minimum of work to paint the body black, and that is something that could possibly be negotiated with the owner. · New windshield . New door handles · Raydot vintage style rear view mirror Interior · Interior and floor painted in Epoxy gray. · Custom aluminum door panels were built and installed. · Custom bolt-in roll bar was fabricated. · New Recaro seats were installed along with a four point Safety Harness. · Autometer gauges for water temp and oil pressure. · New dash top on the original dash. · The heater and wiper motor have been removed but come with the car. Suspension & Drive train · IAP Sport Springs · Koni Red shocks · Adjustable upper control arms (camber) · Shankle Heavy Duty Sway bars · New suspension bushings · New rear axle limit straps · New Driveline Donut and U-joints · Rebuilt calipers and new brake pads · Aeroquip Stainless steel brake lines · New brake booster · 6 x 15 Panasports with 205/60 15 Hoosier Speedsters · 4.10 Limited slip Engine & Transmission · Recent rebuild with liners & pistons and valve job · 105 48 Euro cams · Custom exhaust system · 40 DCOE Webers with custom air cleaner · Holley fuel pressure regulator and gauge · New Water pump, hoses & belts in 2010 · Dyno’d at 143 RWHP on Loyning’s chassis dyno! · Transmission rebuilt in 2010 with new syncros and bearings by Dennis Pillar and has less than 300 miles since the rebuild. · Rebuilt alternator This car was built to be a combination street car/track day car and has only covered 3500 miles since it was completed in the summer of 2005. The majority of the miles have been on the street and it has never seen rain since it was restored. About 500 of the miles were at Alfa Club track days at PIR. This is a great car as is or it could become a very competitive vintage racer with a minimum amount of work. It would also make a great rally car with its comfortable Recaro seats (they cost $1200 alone!) or just enjoy it as it is as the current owner has for the past 5 years. If you have more questions please contact Rob @ (360) 513-0582. Everything that was removed from the car (fuel injecction, original interior, bumper. etc are included with the car. The car is located in Camas WA. The owner will Fed Ex the title when the full payment has been verified. The owner will work with the buyer on arranging shipping at a pick-up location in Portland/vancouver metro area. This vehicle is sold as is where is, and there is no warranty. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
