my phone number is 814-572-2101. ask for tom. tons of additional pics here.. http://s1007.photobucket.com/albums/af195/tom91686/ Before anyone asks why I'am selling ill put it all out there. I have a great interest in these older dodges and as a supplement to my income i enjoy building these trucks and selling them. I wish I could keep every truck I build, especially this one but that would mean i couldn't build the next one. I am a painter for a local, reputable collision shop as well as a body and frame tech. so you can be rest assured this truck is as clean and nice as in the pictures. The truck started life out as a 2 wheel drive gas half ton. I drove to southern Kentucky to pick it up about 2 months ago. with the exception of the surface rust on the roof and hood from the sun baking the paint off, and a very small spot on the bed that was cut out. sandblasted, epoxied and replaced. it was completely rust free. I knew I had enough parts saved up to do this build and I couldn't think of anything cooler than a short bed, p pumped 1st gen. Especially since these were options never offered in the early diesels trucks. The axles, brackets, springs, hangars and all odds and ends came from a 1991 that I bought for the motor and trans a couple years back. mileage was 164,000.. The engine and transmission cam out of a 1996 3500 with a little over 160,000. trans only has 75,000. So all around its fair to say this truck averages 165,000 miles. complete diesel wiring, everything under the dash and under the hood was replaced. i even installed the diesel sound deadening material. This is the most thorough swap that could have been made. The axles were sandblasted and industrial epoxied. The rear leafs were even torn down and blasted seperate. All universal joints. seals. you name it, were replaced. The truck has all new brakes and calipers all the way around including rear shoes, spring kit and wheel cylinders as well as new lines that were neatly bent and routed. Later model 6 inch blocks were used in the back and a set of barely used 3 inch lift springs in the front. The truck really has an awesome stance sitting on 285s.. I put about 2000 miles on it around town and to Columbus and back for the mopar nationals and you would not believe the compliments this truck gets. The body.. As usual the clear coat was just about gone from 3/4 of the body up, the roof had the typical southern bake/rust. and the bed sadly had a small rust spot that i had addressed in all the proper ways. I stripped off all trim. pulled all glass and sanded the whole truck with 180. The roof and hood were sanded down bare and acid treated. The whole truck was sealed in CRE epoxy and then primed with PPG surfacer and blocked. The colors are all factory (dark copper pearlcoat) and (champagne) and were mixed in PPG base then cleared with PPG Global 8150 clear. The cab was painted with the doors and bed pulled to insure no tape lines and over spray. The taillights are brand new and the side moldings are factory with new chrome inserts. the red stripe is the closest thing to the factory I could duplicate. The bumpers, grille, tailgate panel and mirrors are all original and in over all very decent condition although they are 20 years old so they show a bit of age. Compared to most they're in better shape than average. With these replaced this would easily be a show winning truck. The grill is still available from the dealer and in my opinion, though a little pricy its well worth the money compared to the cheap aftermarkets. The interior.. id give the interior a 90 out of a hundred. its very clean. The headliner is new. Carpet was removed and pressure washed. Its as clean as can be, there are heel marks by the pedals where the carpet wore but a nice set of floor mats will hide them. the driver seat has 2 small cig burns that I had a friend of mine sew up for me to make them less noticeable. Other than that its really a nice interior.
