Fuel injected . Starter perfect . Engine oil and fluids are full and clean . No leaks . No ABS brakes . All lights appear to work properly - headlight [ hi & low ] , brake and tail lights , all signals . As State Farm Insurance document showed , this bike is a theft recovery . It appears that the ignition switch wires in front of the tank on the left side were cut then spliced together to delete the ignition switch . That is currently how I started and rode the bike . On E Bay currently , there is a complete lock set for $99 buy now [ ignition switch/gas cap complete /seat lock and helmet holder ] . just purchase and install the gas cap and ignition switch .We had a new key cut to the computer specs which now operate the seat and helmet lock but not the ignition . I believe they also broke the gas cap but abandoned the bike when it ran out of gas as was empty of fuel when we received it . Apparently frustrated - they broke the glass on tachometer but tach operates fine - a little creativity should fix that/ maybe a glass company can cut new circle to fit . We added fuel and charged battery and bike started immediately .Insurance companies have the option of issuing a clear title or salvage after a theft . If this were a late model,expensive bike then the salvage title would effect the value much more but nearly any year BMW cycle of any year/condition [ especially a 1100 ] is worth $ 2000 and up . Also needs right signals resecured or replaced and left rear replaced or at least lense . needs mirrors also and right mirror mount broken [ maybe install smaller / bar end mirrors ]. All brake pads good . Rear tire thin / front good. I would repaint front fork legs for improved appearance. They also tipped bike over on each valve cover - smooth out scuffs and repaint . Headlight ring has a ding and glass broken but works ! - could be bought at many mail order BMW dealers or E bay also .
