Vehicle Detail

Low mile nice diesel pickup. No worries about dishonesty or misrepresentation here. I'm a man of integrity and need to have a clear conscience so everything that I know about the truck you will know too. I'm selling it for my father. It looks almost identical to one sold on ebay in early September but it is not the same vehicle. We bought this truck from Kansas through eBay between 3 and 4 years ago with under 94,000 miles on the odometer. It needed paint and a motor but had absolutely no rust holes at all. I installed a diesel motor and 5 speed trans out of a 1986 Golf myself. The motor and trans were bought from a reputable person who stated that it had 20,000 miles on a complete rebuild. Under 15,000 mile has been put on since the swap was done. It runs solid and does not burn any oil. My father has gotten over 50 MPG more times than not, the 5 speed helps ensure that. The truck was also painted immediately when my father bought it and he also added the nice topper. The color is a light cream and is still in great shape. The are quite a few stone chips on the leading edge of the rear fenders but this truck has no rust holes anywhere! It never did. You can see how good the shock towers are in the pictures, they still have the original light blue paint on them so nothing is hidden here. The rockers, door jambs, and floors are perfectly solid. It has 14" custom wheels that get much attention from the VW guys, Dad had many offers on them. The speedometer reads correct so the tire size must be similar to the Golf. The tires are 185/75R14 and would need to be replaced soon, maybe 30% tread left. The truck bed was painted as well and hardly even has surface rust. There is a rubber mat over it to keep it that way. The front bumper appears decent, the rear bumper has a lot of scratches. There is a scuff on the upper left rear of the topper from Dad trying to beat the garage door while backing out! Obviously he lost. Nothing major, just scuffed. The truck has AC but it does not work. We never worried about it. The compressor, condensor and hoses are there but we can't say for sure that it's complete. The AC hoses are unhooked and the compressor ports have been taped off. The interior needs some work. The door panels, dash and carpet do not look the greatest and could be replaced if someone wanted the inside to look as good as the outside. The driver's seat has a couple of good size holes in the upholstery but the passenger seat looks good. There is no headliner but the metal interior was painted the cream color as well and looks nice. Mechanically, the needs are minor. It hasn't really been driven for a few months so I think the brake rotors may need to be turned or replaced along with the pads. The only other thing that we can think of is that it needs an oil change. There are some extra parts that go along with the truck like another fuel pump, condensor and a few other parts from the Golf. There is also a brand new block heater that has never been installed. Bid with confidence!!!On Oct-02-10 at 14:40:52 PDT, seller added the following information: 10/2 UPDATE!! I'm adding a few pictures of the bottom side of the truck. I need to make a correction on what I stated concerning through rust. Because there is so much interest in the truck I put it on a lift to be sure of any rust on the bottom side. I did find two small holes. One is on the drivers side floor at the very back of the floor pan, it's 2 1/2 inches long by 1 inch wide. The other is at the rear of the passenger side floor pan, it's 1 inch long by 1/2 inch wide - see pics. Sorry for the misinformation. The rest of it looks real good as you can see. Dad said he found a set of license plates from Texas under the seat when he bought the truck. This makes sense the way the underside looks. Dad also said there is only about 8000 miles on a new set of high priced glow plugs, the best money could buy and that the drivers side wheel bearing was replaced a month ago. I drove it and the brakes feel good. It takes off real well and will easily get to 75 mph. Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions.
