You are bidding on a clean, low miles 2004 Volkswagen Jetta GL Wagon with the desirable 1.9 liter TDI diesel and the economical 5 speed manual transmission. This car has been with non-smoking owners. First a little history about the car. The original owner purchased the car at Courosel VW in Iowa City and put over forty thousand miles on in the first couple of years. After that a car dealer in Iowa City used it as his personal vehicle while adding about ten thousand miles. I have had it for almost two and a half years and have put on eighteen thousand miles. I have averaged nearly 42 miles per gallon during that time in mixed, but mostly city, driving. I am selling to cut down my fleet as I have both kids driving now and have had to add two cars with automatics as I am the only one in the household who drives a manual transmission. This Jetta wagon is equipped with front and side curtain airbags (10 total air bags!), power windows, power locks with both original folding remote keys, valet key, all original owners manuals, cassette and CD player, power heated mirrors, ESP electronic stability program (basically VW's sophisticated traction control and antilock brakes), tilt and telescoping steering column, cruise control, and a retractable cargo cover. The 2004's have cup holders in the center floor console which is much better than the older dash mounted holders. I had a receiver style trailer hitch added to be able to use a bike rack. It has not been used to tow. The ball mount is included that came with the hitch. Note that there is no trailer light wiring. This car has been maintained by the selling dealer up until the last two oil changes. The proper synthetic oil from the VW dealer and VW filters have been used on every change. It just had the fuel filter changed. The glow plugs were changed last year under a recall to the new style. The tires are Goodyear Assurance Comfortreads with only 16k miles on them. They are 80k rated tires. The battery was replaced less than a year ago with an 84 month rated battery. Condition wise, this is a very, very clean and gently used car. The exterior is very clean and shiny. There are some minor rock chips on the front and a very few minor minor scratches. There is a short scrape in the plastic rear bumper cover. There is one rock chip in the windshield. The interior is smoke free, has no tears, and is in nice condition. There are some very faint water spotting on the front seats from getting in and out in the rain. There are minor curb scrapes on some of the hubcaps. Under the hood is clean and the car is leak free. Overall this is an extemely clean and low mileage Jetta wagon with the TDI diesel and 5 speed manual transmission. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
