Vehicle Detail

For sale is a rare 1968 Porsche 912 Targa with a Soft-Window. This body style is becoming increasingly sought after and will continue to appreciate in value. This particular car starts at the first turn of the key and runs, shifts, and brakes. It is a true pleasure to drive, however does suffer from rust in the body and pans and will need notable work to bring it to its earlier glory. The car has been painted red, however its original color code was a special order metallic green. The interior is still stock, and is in fair condition. The seats have a few minor tears, but have good padding. There is one crack in the dash. All the gages function, however the clock does not. The car still has the original radio, which recently stopped functioning. The Targa top fits well, but could use a new skin. The soft-window is in great condition. The pans were patch-repaired in the past, but the vehicle would benefit from a thorough restoration. The car zips around town quite well and attracts a lot of looks, but having recently lost any source of funding for this reno, I have to give it up. This is a really cool car, and in the right hands will be phenomenal once restored, but it needs rust work on the body and floor. The vehicle has also been listed locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if there is local interest. On Sep-18-10 at 13:56:56 PDT, seller added the following information: The original color code for the vehicle is 62109-L. The number on the side wall of the generator on the engine is 616.101.217.0R. Neither I nor a porsche mechanic were able to locate the P number at first glance. The engine does leak a bit of oil when parked. Also, all four tire would require changing. This is a 4 speed model. On Sep-22-10 at 20:15:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Please allow me to reiterate that this vehicle has a working powertrain, but it will need body and undercarriage work, The body does have bondo at places and the paint will need to be stripped to unearth the state of the body panels. On Sep-22-10 at 20:19:45 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE REDUCED!!!On Sep-23-10 at 13:26:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve set at $ 8,301.00. Next bid may win auction!!On Sep-24-10 at 05:54:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Please contact me with any and all questions you may have, prior to bidding.
