1971 Volkswagen Beetle Autostick Transmission Great Condition Mileage Exempt on Title 5 day NO RESEVE AUCTION I purchased this car about two years ago as a fun vehicle for the family to use. Has been to car shows, ice cream and just cruising around town. Very fun car. Lots of attention. Real head turner. Now sadly the time has come to sell her. Please take the time to read my description before asking me a question, most questions are answered in the description. Please do not ask me what I will take for the car now. I will not even respond. This is a no reserve auction. That means, the last bid will win the car. Its a fairly simple concept. The bug is on my lot for a steal at $6,000. If you want to pay that now, please contact me. Otherwise, bid what your willing to pay. Again, LAST BID WINS! I purchased the car from NY from a guy who restores bugs. The car was completely gone over. It has a new interior, seats, headliner, door cards, sunvisors. Engine was rebuilt about 3 years ago. The paint is a repaint at some point. I'm not sure exactly when. Underneath is very clean. The exterior of the car is great. Paint is very good. Not show quality, but very presentable. Nice chrome accents, shinny moon covers. Bumpers and exhaust very shinny. Glass in great shape. Has the usual dings here and there, nothing major. Tires are all new, great tread. Alot of people are concerned about the mileage exempt on title. This means the mileage is not recorded on the title any longer due to the age of the car. The odometer reads 37,000 miles. Is this correct? It might be, I doubt it. This is a almost 40 year old car. i'm sure its been replaced. Mileage really doesn't matter on these cars anyway because the engines are usually rebuilt a couple times in there lives. Mechanically it is in great shape. Autostick transmission. For those of you not use to it, it is a 3 speed clutchless trans with reverse. Operates on a vacuum pump system. When you touch the shifter it engages the clutch allowing you to change gears. I usually leave it in 2nd to drive around town. 3rd is mainly highway. 1st is for a load of people or at a big hill. Reverse is for reverse. Pretty simple. I have done may items over the last 2 years. Full tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. I replaced the starter and ignition switch as well. She starts right up and purrs along great. All the electricals work as well. Signals, headlights, hazards, wipers. The Radio does not work. Never has, doesn't bother me cause the engine sounds so good. Love the bug wistle. The Horn works but I have it disconnected. When going around turns, it has a habit of going off. Just have had time to pull the wheel off and clean the contacts. Interior is awesome. Best part of the car. Tan and black is a great color combo. Seats are clean, headliner is great. Door cards look great. It gets alot of attention. The steering wheel even has a clock in the center. Also included with the sale are misc spare parts I've collected. Headlight rings, some caps, switches, etc. A very nice car cover, and an attached trick charger for the battery. This auction may end at anytime if someone purchases the car locally. This is a binding contract. Deposit is due in 24 hours of end of sale. Full payment required in 7 days. I WILL NOT SHIP THIS CAR. This is for pick up only at my location in carlisle, pa. If you need to have it ship YOU must make all arrangements. That includes quoting, paying and arrangment. You shipper is more that welcome to pick the car up at my location. Obviously this car is sold as-is, where is with no warranty what so ever. Please remember that this is a 40 year old car. This car is available to be viewed on my lot in carlisle. If you are far away and would like to use a service to inspect the car, that is more than welcome. Due to lots of attention, and tire kickers, do not ask to test drive it without being prepared to leave a deposit to drive the car.
