Up for auction is my baby......A 1988 Toyota Pick up 4x4, 5 speed transmission with the bulletproof 22 RE 4 cylinder engine. I am the second owner of this truck. I bought it with 37,000 miles or so in 1999. I have put a lot of time/money into this truck over the years. Below is a listing of what has been done to this truck (that I can think of). I am a straight shooter and will tell you that isn't perfect but has LOTS of life left. I am selling the truck to buy a full size with larger towing capabilities. I have lots of service records for the truck...although I did do a lot of maintenance my self. The oil has been changed regularly..every 3-4K miles. The truck is an excellent firewood/hunting truck. The 4 wheel drive works great. The upgraded suspension is stiff and the truck doesn't ride like a Lexus. The tires have about 50% tread left. The valve guide seals will likely need replacement sometime in the future. If the truck isn't driven and sits for days, there is a small amount of blue smoke at start up...valve guide seal replacement is common for these engines as they age. Occasionally, the starter solenoid needs a tap to get the truck to start but hasn't been an issue lately. The dash has a crack as you will see in the photos. Some minor surface rust is apparent on the bottom of the doors/door jambs and a few other places.I realize that I have far more money in this truck than I will ever get out, but I'm not going to give it away so don't make me a $1,000 offer....I am emotionally attached to this truck and if I have to keep it, I will. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. - Within the last 10,000 miles (5 years or so) the following work has been done: - Removed the original bed and installed a "UTE tray" as they call them in Austrialia. The aluminum bed is 6ft wide and 7ft long. All three sides are removable in seconds to make it a flat bed( No it doesn't dump!). As you will see in the photos, the rear tailgate is slightly bent but still latches. - New timing chain and tensioner and timing cover gasket, adjusted valves - New water pump - New alternator - New idler arm, new balljoint (can't remember what side) - New front fenders ( 2010) - Frame had steel plates welded on both sides due to rust....the entire frame was looked over at the time of the repair and is in good shape now - New rear brake lines (2010) - New fuel pump and sending unit (2010) - New clutch ( 2010) - Rocker panels/cab rust was repaired and new patches where welded on/repainted (2010) - Fresh PA inspection (good until 8/2011) - The rear leaf springs where replaced with heavy duty springs with greaseable shackles - Upgraded torsion bars (approximately 1" of lift in the front) with poly bumper stops - Replaced the original carpet - Installed a fuse block for accessories such as rear lights in the bed and the truck is wired for off road lights in the front (no lights included) - Bucket seats were installed, they have camo covers on them...the bucket seats are gray and do not match the blue interior - The entire truck cab was painted in 2003. There are areas that you can see where it was masked off....not a showroom paint job but nice. The truck was NEVER wrecked or in an accident!
