Vehicle Detail
1967 MGB, runs great, looks decent, excellent for a fall restoration, or provide a little TLC and drive as is. This MGB has been stored indoors and last licensed in 1998. According to the previous owner the motor was rebuilt by a reputable local engine re-builder during its storage time. It has very little time on engine after the rebuild. The engine is clean inside and out which bears truth to the story. This was told to me by the previous owner and I have no paper work to prove it, so only consider it a good running engine. It was started occasionally during storage and currently starts easily, runs and sounds great. The good, bad, and indifferent. I’ve tried to add enough pictures to show all the flaws, if more pictures are needed please contact me with what you would like to see. The indifferent: The paint job is amateur, looks good at 10 feet, but has several flaws upon closer inspection. The bumpers are in need of re-chroming. But they are straight and not beat up. The car looks like a eighties redo. Paint is metallic, has aftermarket steering wheel, fog lights, oil pressure gauge and several toggle switches that I haven’t figured out what they do. It also has Weber carburetor and header, I prefer the SUs myself, but several folks would debate that. Good tires. Floors pans are solid. May have had an older type floor pan installed, does not look like the newer Heritage floor pans. Transmission shifts good, no abnormal sounds. Windshield is clear and is not broken, but has a light wiper scratch. Both side windows are clear. The passenger side door glass has a small chip on the edge. The passenger side wing glass need a hinge, less than $10:00 from Moss. The Bad: Need top, has a tear on the passenger side and driver side at the hold down hook. See Picture. Rust: Needs patch panel on the right side lower front fender, the lower left front fender can be repaired. Both doors have rust in the lower front corners, they also are repairable. The crack of Doom, Both doors have the mirror cracks, I have been successful at welding the cracks, and several sites give instruction on repairing these cracks. Trunk floor has had a small patch. (See picture) Front Valance is not worth talking about. Needs new one. The Good: The Motor, sound and runs great. No Smoke. New distributor, new generator. When adding aftermarket they did not destroy the car. No chiseled holes in the dash or body. The top frame is in very good condition. Wire wheels. Seats and carpet are above average, passenger seat has small tear low on the outside of the back. See picture. Good Brakes!!!!!! Excellent Exhaust. I’ve tried to include everything, but please ask questions. I have only driven this car a few miles around the neighborhood, so there may be small problems that I have not discovered. If you need more pics or further information e-mail me. Deposit of $500.00 per Paypal within 48 hrs, the remainder in cash at pickup. Pickup to occur within 7 days after close of sale, unless further arraignments are made. Delivery is possible up to 300 miles for an additional fee. This car is sold as is, no warranties implied.
