Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 78 gold special edition trans am this is the 1/2 year only produced t/a and then cancelled out. I do have the PHS docs for the car that will be included in the sale. This car has been in my family since 1995 I bought it as my first car and never got to drive it until the age of 30 this car was passed back and forth between me and my uncle for too many years and too many times to count. I wish this car could remain in the family and see a full on restoration but the fact is for all of us is we all know that it will never be finished. And that its time to let it go. I will start with the drive line.the car currently has a running 79 trans am 301 with turbo 350 in it. runs and drives and shifts nice. I do have the #'s matching 400 L78 engine for the car.(not included in the auction but available for additional money.) It is on a stand and is torn apart. I had the motor bored .030 over and had new cam bearings installed along with new freeze plugs and thats where it stops. I did have the original heads finished so they are ready to bolt on. I do have rods that have been shot peened and .030 pistons. the crank has never been turned and i do not have a cam, lifters or timing chain for the engine. I do have the original carb but not the original intake. It is a factory pontiac 400 intake but off of a 76. I do have all the air conditioning brackets pump and cruise control equipment as well. (which can be purchased on top of the buy it now.) the rear end is a stock posi rear end. suspension..... all of this is original down to the shocks...the fronts need to be replaced as they started leaking about 2 years ago now. brakes: believe me or not but the car has its original pads, calipers, rotors, shoes and drums as this car only has 39,000 miles on it. the master cylinder has been replaced due to it leaking out the back side. but that is all. Body: the doors, fenders, hood, trunk lid, trunk floor, floor pans tail panel are all solid. the under side of the car was rust proofed from the dealer when brand new so it really preserved the underside of this car. there are some scaley spots that could use some blasting and sealing up to prevent it from ever becomming a hole. this car has been stored inside for atleast for sure 12 years now. my first couple it sat outside and that is where the rust started. the outside ONLY of the quarter panels will need work. the passenger side is patchable as i had already paid someone to get started on that but they never finished. I do have a brand new patch panel for the front section of the quarter and a solid cut off for the rear so you can graft the two small spots in thats needed. the drivers side quarter was hit many years before i got it and the dealer did a really shotty job of repairing it. (replaced only the front half) so it could possibly be welded up the rest of the way and saved or at the very least you may have to buy a skin for that side. (not a big deal for a car so rare) the passenger has a very very small pin hole in it where it wraps up by the rear axle its very easily fixable and will NOT need the whole thing replaced. there is an axe wound that was welded up where the roof and quarter meed on the passenger side so that will need to be body worked in but its sealed up now and doesnt leak. the only part i am actually missing body parts wise is the lower front spoiler. I do have all 4 wheel flares though not pictured and not on the car, I have a ton of parts that go with the car. The shaker scoop is uncut (rare these days) the base has been sand blasted and painted already so its ready for new vaccuum lines and the gm decal to be all set ********THE SHAKER IS NOT INCLUDED WITH this auction but is available for purchase additionally.******** interior: the carpet and package tray are brand new along with the factory fisher sill plates. I had the dash bezel restored by Randy combs about 6 years ago now. (any real trans am guy knows of him and his quality work) everything else is there and is in decent driver quality shape minus the head liner that is non existant. the steering wheel is in good shape as well. the dash is almost blemish free I put a small crack in it right by the radio messing around with it in very cold weather 5-6 years ago and its never gotten any worse. this could be fixed as well. as you can see by the radio thats in the car, the radio opening is uncut (again rare these days) as you can see by the pictures the car does have the original gold tinted t-tops and as said already, I DO have the PHS docs for the car and it will be included with the car. I wish i could sell this car back to my uncle and keep it in the family with hopes of getting it finished one day but that is not a reality right now. So I offer to you a car that is very dear to my entire family for a mere fraction of what we have spent trying to get parts gathered back up over the years for this car.. zero feedback bidders must email me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. $500 deposit is due via pay pal within 24 hours of auctions end so if you havent asked your wife if its ok yet DO NOT BID the rest of the balance is required via cashiers check within 3 days of auctions end or cash in hand if your local before the car is relased all must clear into my bank account FIRST. over seas buyers, I will assist you in getting shipping arranged by you doing any and all leg work and you pay any and all fees. I will be more than happy to assist a transit company with pick up of this car under my free time only. I will not miss any kind of work to help out so this car must be picked up in the evenings or on the weekends. any questions please call me 616-662-0892 my name is Rick I cannot call back long distance so if you miss me you will need to try again. between the hours of 6pm-11pm est standard time. and any reasonable time on the weekends. thanks and happy bidding. ONE LAST THING PLEASE TO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY THE CAR. please do not bid if you do not intend to buy it. Im trusting that if you bid or buy it, you really want it. thanks What you get with the buy it now is the car iteself as you see it in the picture, the door panels and the door glass as well. the extra parts, numbers matching 400 a/c parts wheel flares and shaker are are all not included with this very low price. but can be purchased for additional money. I will let you chose if you want them or not before i list them after the auction is over.
