1974 VW Thing ***THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION*** This beautiful VW Thing will be sold to the highest bidder! This VW Thing is in great condition and clean through out! This VW Thing has a 1.6 liter air cooled, carbureted engine. The engine runs great and was just serviced with a tune up, oil change and it performs as it should. The odometer shows a stunning 89,538 original miles! It has a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts as it should and has no apparent issues. It even has its rare factory VW stamped Thing exhaust that comes through the rear bumper, it is in very nice and original condition. It also has its original Thing skid plates still attached to the engine! This VW thing was recently fully painted inside and out! One of the coolest features is that the complete interior, trunk, bumpers and the underside were sprayed with heavy duty color matched orange and black bed liner to give it the best protection it could ever get. The convertible top and seats were new a few years ago and still look great. As you can see in the pictures there were custom wooden floor boards made to fit and look like the old German Kubelwagen of WW2 The windshield folds down and the door are easily removed for what ever safari you wish to go on! The rear seats fold down to make room for hauling all your gear and then some! There is a custom padded roll bar installed in the vehicle for safety. There are seat belts for it that were not installed when the pictures were taken. The vehicle does have a radio. This is a very solid VW Thing and it runs very well. All the lights work and it shouldn’t need anything. If you are looking for a very clean, original, reliable and fun VW Thing for the whole family to enjoy than this is the VW Thing for you. This Thing is very nice and in better than average condition for the age of the vehicle. Please remember that this is a 36 year old vehicle and you can not expect it to be perfect. It might need little things fixed or repaired here and there from time to time. Also please keep in mind that this is an older vehicle and it is not new, it was used and driven daily. As with any and all used vehicles you can expect minor imperfections and normal wear and tear such as dirt, chips, dings, scratches, fading, ECT. Look at all the pics judge for your self!
