Vehicle Detail
NOTE - pictures are current, not from 2001 I bought this bike in 2004 with 3,000 miles on it and have used it solely for commuting to work. The motor is stock, oil leak free, and runs strong. It has an Edelbrock carb intended for a Yamaha Raptor 660 twist grip throttle and allows for cold starts, 5-th gear roll ons from 40 mph, and makes you really wish for a 6th gear. Carb has been on the bike for 2 seasons now, and is still trouble free. I manufactured a bracket to allow the continued use of the existing two throttle cables (unmodified). A year ago I found a Yoshimura exhaust for it and have run that this year after a repack (keeping the unmodified head pipe). That and the carb really have made this bike sing. The bike has the rear lowered via factory settings and I've pulled the spacers out of the front. I ran fork skins for 2 years and went back to the gaters last winter - New fork seals and a new tube were also used due to a stone chip (I live on a dirt road). I'm running a gel seat, and a really cut down Spitfire windshield. It has 1 season (about 1,500 miles) on a Trail Wing on the front and a 140-18-17 Shinko on the rear. I installed a blue front shield and rear fender and painted the side covers (held up surprisingly good). I installed a turn signal beeper under the seat, and a little brighter high beam bulb. With this bike comes the undamaged original seat, carb and exhaust. It also comes with a new 520 chain and front sprocket which were never installed. It comes with a spare new 140 Shinko for the rear, and a 120-90-17 Shinko for the front (I had visions of a super moto but never got there.) There is exhaust packing for at least 1 repack. I'm selling this (and the other bike in a separate auction) due to a knee problem and a desire to restore and run my 1987 Suzuki Samurai, not for any mechanical or storage reasons. Bike listing starts at $1,500 and goes for at least that.
