Vehicle Detail

For sale is this Kaiser Corportion 1966 CJ-6. The CJ6 is just like a CJ5, but The CJ-6 was a 20-inch (508 mm) longer-wheelbase version of the CJ-5.This Jeep served as a forest service Jeep in Western Missouri. In 2003 I bought this Jeep in Missouri , and hauled it to Colorado where I did a frame-up rebuild of the entire vehicle. The original color of the Jeep was Forest Service Green. The Jeep is now in Eugene, Oregon. This Jeep originally was equipt with a four cylinder F-head engine- but now is powered by a 1975 Odd-Fire Buick V-6. The suspension on this Jeep was completely rebuilt in 2006. The Jeep is lifted four inches. The Jeep has clearance to run very large tires. The frame was boxed and reinforced, the spring hangers were also reconditioned, repaired and reinforced. I recently converted the front axle from a Dana 27 to a Dana 30. A 1972 Dana 30 has better open steering knuckles and heavier axle tubes allowing the Jeep to turn sharper. This Jeep does not shimmy and has good steering geometry. I have not converted the gears in the front end. So the front has 5:38 to 1 gears while the rear has a 4:27 ratio. This means either the front or rear axle must be changed to match in order to run in four- wheel drive. The rear drive shaft was built by a custom driveline shop, has new u-joints and is ballenced. The front shaft is intact and mounted on the vehicle. The Jeep has stock factory 1972 Dana 30 hubs that engage and disengage the front axle. The rear axle has the factory limited slip differential, the front axle also has a locker. The Jeep was converted to Saginaw power steering in 2007- the steering was taken from a 1992 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep now has a rebuilt 1975 231 Buick V6 odd-fire. The engine has a Rochester 2G carb (Stock). The radiator is out of a 1980 Chevy Malibu and cools the engine. The engine was bored out 0.30, and is otherwise stock. It is fitted with headers and side pipes. The Flywheel is a 52 pound heavy Jeep flywheel. The engine is in good shape, runs wonderfully, with about 7000 miles of wear. The Clutch is controlled by a Wilwood Hydraulic master and slave cylindersThe Brakes were converted from the old stock 9 inch drums to later 11 inch brakes. The brake master cylinder from 1972 Jeep- with about 7000 miles of use. The brakes and clutch are operated by dash mounted swing pedals. The emergency brake is a stock driveline drum—and was rebuilt with a new drum and shoes in 2007. The engine is adapted to a T-90 Jeep transmission and a Dana 18 transfercase. The tranny and t-case had new bearings in 2007. The tranny does NOT pop out of second gear (new second gear installed 2007) . This popping out of second gear is a common problem, but has been cured on this Jeep. The t-case has a Novak intermediate shaft and seals. These all have about 7000 miles of driving wear. The Windshield is new without cracks and flawless, and was new and newly installed in 2008, it has electric windshield wipers. The driver’s seat has been moved back three inches to accommodate leg room for a large driver. There is a heater installed in the area of the glove box. The tub was restored replacing rusted out areas with 16 ga sheet metal. Several small areas of the bed have been replaced, and two sheet metal areas about five inches by six inches have new sheet metal gas welded. The drive and passenger side floor board have been replaced with 16 ga. sheet metal. The repairs were welded with oxy acetylene, ground and filled with body filler. Due to the repairs, added sheet metal reinforcements, and armor additions the tub is in very strong structural condition. The Jeep has a prototype half-top made of canvas, it works with metal doors. The Jeep now has 31x10.5x 15 tires. These tires are in marginal condition. The Jeep is legal and drivable on the street. However needs a new speedometer and cable and a gasoline gage. Feature Summary: · 1975 Buick V6 Odd fire Engine · T-90 Transmission · Dana 18 Transfer case · 11 inch Brakes · Power Steering · Hydraulic Clutch · Firewall mounted swing pedals · Power Steering · 2-1/2 Spring Lift · 2 inch body lift · Dana 30 front axle- Lockright locker · Dana 44 two piece rear axle Power-Loc differential If you have any questions please email me.
