Immaculate Stock Low Mileage Original Rust Free 1981 Jeep CJ5 This is one of the cleanest original Jeeps you will find for sale. It is a completely original Colorado Jeep dressed in Sherwood Green Metallic paint with a perfect nutmeg denim interior. I have followed Jeeps a long time and have yet to find one this nice, it starts right up, drives great around town, in the mountains and has no problems keeping up with traffic on the highway. It is incredibly smooth to drive and very tight too. For the last 21 years the Jeep has only been driven on special occasions (8k miles). It has always been stored indoors and its condition is a reflection of that. It is really difficult to find an original non restored Jeep, but this is a time piece and ready for a new home. Engine:The ebay listing states it is a 5.0L v8 this is incorrect the Jeep is equipped with the factory 258 4.2L inline 6cylinder motor. This motor is the factory installed engine! It starts right up, runs great without any smoke. Has been maintained regularly and recently in the last 200 miles received a tune up including oil change. Transmission/Clutch:This is the highly regarded T-176 4speed transmission, absolutely no grinding, crunching or issues shifting. The clutch is very responsive and extremely tight! Exterior/Body/Paint:Exterior is Gorgeous! The paint is original and this jeep has never been restored. It is incredibly hard to find one untouched, the color is Sherwood Green Metallic is in excellent condition, very reflective, shiny and has tons of luster. This front fenders/windshield frame etc have some minor sand chips (view photos). There is no exterior rust, there is discoloration on the undercarriage and a couple small surface spots but no thru rust anywhere. The Jeep body/paint are beautiful and solid! Tires/Wheels:Tires are 80-85% (13-14/32) BFG all terrains 31x10.50r15s mounted/balanced on white spoke american racing wheels 15x8" *I will also include a set (5) 15x8 white original renegade wheels but 3 are missing center caps Interior:Absolutely beautiful and in like new condition! The seats are original, the stitching on all 3 seats are perfect. The rear seat looks to have never been used and its seat belts are still wrapped in the factory plastic bags behind the seat. The carpet is in excellent condition without any rips or tears. The dash pad is in great condition minus a very small crack on the passenger side. The dash is original and equipped with the factory radio delete. The rear roll bar bags function properly and the rear wheel well pads are a nice addition for the rear passengers all of which are factory! Controls/Dash/Guages:All Factory and never changed. The lights on the dash are bright, the gauges, knobs/controls are in excellent condition and tight. The heater/wipers/lights inside/outside of the vehicle all work perfectly. The Jeep is equipped with tilt steering and steering lock. Makes it much easier to get into and out of the Jeep. Drivetrain:Stock, this Jeep drives amazing. This CJ5 drives awesome and once you drive you'll quickly fall in love with it. It would make a great daily driver, weekend warrior or adventure vehicle. I drove it 50 miles today and it amazes me how many looks I get yet how smooth and easy to drive it is. The Jep hugged the road, has lots of power up the mountain roads and is an absolute pleasure to drive. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this on a road trip. The suspension is very tight without any vibrations or shimmy. The 4x4 works excellent, turn the hubs and move the transfer case shifter into 4wd high or 4wd low and the Jeep is ready to explore. Top/Doors: Included are the original special equipment whitco nutmeg soft top and doors. This top and doors are in excellent condition and all zippers work, plastic windows are very clean with only minimal scratches/scuffs and the snaps all are in excellent condition. As already mentioned, the jeep has spent its entire life in a garage and was carefully driven. The doors are original as well and in near perfect condition. I also am including a set of bestop nutmeg half doors shown in the pictures. Miscellaneous:The original sales letter from Kearns Jeep dealer in Lakewood Colorado, the window sticker, owners manual, maintenance schedule booklet, soft top installation manual, emissions booklets and more. A clean Colorado title, bill of sale and current emissions voucher. Extremely RARE add on's offered by the Jeep Dealer include:*Front Brush Guard, this was an option in late 1981 and only became standard on the 1982 CJ7 Jeep Jamboree Edition(2500 limited vehicles). I have spoken to several people who are Jeep enthusiasts who have told me that this brush guard is so rare they have only seen it once on a 1982 Jamboree. The only other source to see this brush guard/winch bracket combo is on the 1982 Jeep CJ7 Jamboree brochure (you can find one on ebay). The front amber lights are not wired. *The Ramsey 8000lb winch and unique mounting bracket are too very very rare and only found on the Jeep Jamboree edition CJ7s. The mounting bracket allows fitment of the Factory brush guard. The winch works great and includes the winch remote.
