1984 4 WHEEL DRIVE SHORT WHEEL BASE FORD RANGER Please read the following carefully. I purchased this truck last summer as a project. So far, I have put new rear brakes, drums, front and rear shocks, exhaust, catalytic converter, O2 sensor, plugs, and wires. The truck runs well for being 26 years old. It drives well too and the 4-Wheel drive works when last tested. I have only driven it around the sub-division after doing work on it. This truck sold a month ago for $960 with a lot of extras. The day the new owner came to pick it up the reverse went out on it. I refunded his money immediately. The truck has some wear and tear. There are some small dents in the bed as well as the front driver's fender and the cab roof. All I feel can be repaired if you wanted. Overall, the body of this truck is fair to good, the frame is good, and the cab mounts are good. The suspension appears to be good as well. The engine starts well and does not smoke leading me to believe it is not the original engine. The clutch is pretty thin. I pulled the drain plug from the TK4 transmission and found no metal. I then pulled the bottom cover after draining it and inspected the main gear housing. All looked good. I pulled the top of the shifter housing to inspect the reverse gear and idler gear via a mirror and they looked good as well best that I could see. I sealed and replaced everything and filled the transmission with 80-90 wt lube and it backed out of the garage four times with no issue. Go figure??? I am starting this at $299 as this truck is worth it in parts alone. If it goes over $500, I will include a complete interior from a B2 Eddie Bauer which will include the seats with power lumber, 2 doors with panels, power locks, and windows, and the center console. I do not have the harnesses for these other than those that come with the parts themselves. If it goes over $699 I will include what is above as well as a new Borg Warner Clutch kit for the 2.8L and a rebuilt Motor Craft 2150 non-feedback carb, as well as the distributor, ignition box, and coil for a Duraspark Conversion. The distributor has a new pick up installed and looks to be in very good condition. This truck will need to be towed as it is not road worthy at this point. Still, for less than $700...or hopefully more, someone can have a good base truck for a project or on heck of a deal on some really good parts. I forgot to mention the fuel tank on this has just been reburbed. It was coated and sealed with KBY tank liner and has been holding fuel for 6 weeks. The tank was in good condition but had 2 pin holes in the front where the plastic shield had accumulated mud over the years. There was no rust inside when I took it off. I do not think you will be disappointed with this. Regardless, this is an auction and the winning bidder is expected to pay a $100 deposit via paypal within 24 hours and the balance upon pick up via cash. (I will consider Paypal for the balance, but check with me first and it must be paid prior to pick up). This truck is sold as is where is. Please ask all questions prior to bidding.
