Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1947 Chevy 3100. It has a straight six in it. I do not know if it runs. I bought this truck 5 years ago but have another truck that is being restored and running out of space! This truck came from North Dakota. The metal looks very solid. I have not gone through everything. Included in the sale is spare glass and front grill. The items in the bed of the truck are not part of this auction. Like I said, limited space meant I used the truck to hold things. The woman I bought this from said it ran prior to me buying it on ebay. It has been converted to 12 volt, but I would say the wiring needs replacing. Cab floor needs work. There was some prior damage to the front driver fender and the passenger side front fender that the previous owner or original owner had worked on. Even with that it is a solid truck. It is a candidate for a full off resto or just do the minor things and put it on the road. The bed has a metal plate on top of the wood bed. I do not know the condition of the wood. The truck has been stored in a dry climate control garage for the time I have had it. Apart from the layer of dust on it, I have not done anything to it. The interior definitely needs some going over. No head liner. Foot starter was removed at some point. Fuel filler is on cab, although the bed has an inlet hole for a tank. There is a spare tire also. The winning bidder is responsible for picking up the truck. I had the truck shipped to me using a hauling service. I believe it cost me $500. The winning bidder shall make a $500 payment within 3 days after the auction ending. Full payment is due within 7 days after auction end. I accept paypal for the initial payment and would prefer cash for the remainder if you are picking it up personally. All checks must clear the banks before truck is transferred to winning bidder. Only bid on this if you are serious about having this classic truck. You will have some work to do to get her back on the road. I will not candy coat the deal... The truck is "as is". I have the title for it as well. It is a clear and will be signed over upon full payment. Possible questions: Is it the original motor? I don't know. Does it run. I don't know. Is it a cool truck, YES IT IS! Is the bed in good shape? There is a metal plate in the bed, thicker than sheet metal. Bed wood underneath it. Not sure what state the wood is in. I wish I did not have to put it up for auction, but I believe that someone out there who enjoys working on old trucks like I do will want this deal. Again, the truck is from the foothills of Mount Rushmore. Very solid. On Sep-05-10 at 17:56:58 PDT, seller added the following information:A question was asked about the cab corners. Both sides will need patching. Typical of these style trucks as any dirt collecting would lead to these issues over the years. As mentioned previously, the cab floor will require some patching or pan replacement. The door supports look ok. The running boards also look structurally ok.On Sep-06-10 at 07:55:18 PDT, seller added the following information:I have a potential buyer coming by to look over the truck, so I rolled it out of the garage and emptied the bed. Two things. The bed wood needs replacing. They sell kits for this. And the other thing is that the drivers side rear leaf spring needs replacing also. Again, I am being honest about the truck. No surprises. No BS. While I want to sell it, I do not want to misrepresent the truck or myself.
