finpeople22 Store 1983 MERCEDES BENZ 300TD LOW MILES TURBODIESEL WAGON ALL INSPECTIONS DONE This wagon is clean inside and out and they are becoming harder and harder to find in this condition with low miles. It is a turbo diesel with the legendary cast iron heads and an engine life expectancy of 500,000 miles before a rebuild. This is considered one of Mercedes Benz' crowning achievements and one of the most sought after models. There is currently 198,859 original miles on the car, which are very low miles for this wagon. 1983 is considered one of the best years for the MB turbodiesel wagons and this wagon shows it. The wagon handles beautifully on the freeways and around town. The rear suspension has recently been worked on with new accumulator spheres installed and they now function properly. This wagon also has the net separator that can be used with the rear seat down or with it up. It's great if you have pets. It also has a shade that rolls out over the rear cargo area. This was a MB option that you will find on very few wagons and it is a nice touch. The car has been very well taken care of and the white exterior with tobacco interior is a beautiful and classic color scheme, and quite rare. The car was just inspected by the diesel mechanic at our local MB dealership, who fixed a few things that needed attention. He is probably one of the best MB diesel mechanics in Southern California and he’s been a service technician for MB for 30 years. He knows these diesels inside and out and still owns two of them himself. He went through the car and checked all systems and gave it the thumbs up. Description: Exterior color is Arcticweiss, MB paint code 147 with Tobacco MB-Tex interior. 5-Cylinder, 3.0 liter, single overhead cam, turbo charged diesel, 4-speed automatic transmission, power assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, manual sunroof, A/C and heat climate control, power windows, central locking, power steering, Original Becker AM/FM cassette player, electrically heated rear windshield and rear wiper, quartz chronometer, tachometer, 3-way adjustable front bucket seats, chrome wheels, front center folding arm rest, zebrano wood dash trim and console, combed wool carpet, 2-speed windshield wiper with 5-second mist interval control, parcel nets. Exterior Condition: The wagon has had a recent repaint to the original MB paint code spec and the paint is in excellent condition. The exterior rubber and chrome are all in very good condition. All the glass is in great shape and the window tint is in great shape. The wheels are showing a little wear in the chrome finish as you can see from the photos, but they still look good. The emblems are shiny and in excellent condition and the grill is in excellent shape. Interior Condition: The Mb Tex is in overall great shape. The dash is crack free. The headliner is in excellent shape and the carpet is in good condition. The seats are comfortable and there are no cracks or holes in any of the seats. The door panels are in very nice condition as you can see from the photos. The instrument panel and center console are in very good condition with just a couple of small cracks near the window switches on the center console which is pretty normal for these cars. All of this can be seen in the photos. Mechanical Condition: Mechanically this car is very sound. The transmission shifts smooth and strong in all gears with no slippage. The engine in this car performs beautifully with nice power and torque. There are no oil leaks or other fluid leaks. There are no leaks in the exhaust and it is smooth running at all speeds. The alignment is true with no pulling during braking. The brakes are strong. The tires are in great shape with about 80% tread life remaining. This car has many years of trouble free motoring to come. I would feel confident in this vehicle on a long road trip in its excellent condition. Accessories Condition: All electronics are functioning in the vehicle. All power windows are working. The sunroof is the manual type and is working properly. The speedometer and odometer are working and reflect the current and accurate mileage. The original Becker stereo sounds good and the climate control works on the vehicle. The AC blows ice cold in the car and has had a recent service.
