Vehicle Detail
Original 1951 Chevy Pickup (3100) for sale. 3 speed manual (3 on the tree) transmssion. If you want a show winner, this isnt the truck....yet. If you want a nice driver/ weekend project for minimal expense, this is it. Literally everything is available on-line for this truck. It is a simple engine with plenty of room to work. The truck also has a working "HOIST" below the bed that makes the bed lift like a mini "dump truck". Hydraulics work fine. I cant tell you how many people would stop me and ask to sell them the truck, and now they are no where to be found...lol TRUCK IS NOT RUNNING AT THIS TIME. Continue reading before you click away and see why.... I have a clear title in hand. The truck is mostly original. When I got this truck it was running but the previous owner decided he didnt want lights so he/she decided to cut all wires leading to headlights, turn signals, brake lights etc. It wasnt a big deal to me as I was driiving it during the day anyway...however, there was some sort of electrical short that was very, very annoying in the fact that the battery would be dead every single time I shut the truck off, even with a new battery if the truck sat off for more than 3 hours, it was dead..... I would carry around a spare battery for a boost which worked fine until I had enough. I purchased a Ron Francis "Bare Bones" (6v to 12v conversion) wiring harness and had it towed to a shop for installation. The shop installed the wiring harness and lights and just before it was to be shipped to the mechanics shop for the final connections, I got seriously hurt at work and am now out of money. The final connections (ingnition, etc.) needs to be done before this truck will run again. I had every intention to keep going as you can see by the work I was getting done, and during the wiring job I got a serious case of "might-as-wells" along the way. They include: - New Ignition switch, headlights, turn signals, interior dome light, turn signal switch, gauges (dolphin-not installed) NOT JUST THE BULBS, the entire light with housing (chrome). I also purchased but not installed: Pertronix electric ignition, 12V alternator, windshield wipers, bezels, door glass for both doors (one piece), door glass conversion kit including new felt/swipes, door glass regulators, stricker plates, etc. The floor boards were rusted out so I also purchased the 3 piece metal floor board ready to be welded (or bolted) onto the frame. There is a new battery as well as new battery cables. I also bought new pedal rubbers, skull shifter knob, etc. I also have an original Chevy assembly manual (VERY detailed) and a few parts catalogues. ALL IS INCLUDED IN SALE See the pictures and ask questions before you bid. $500 is due at purchase and the balance within 48 hours of purchase. The reserve is very low, lower than the buy it now price. You must arrange to have the truck picked up and of course, shipping is not included. On Sep-04-10 at 05:18:17 PDT, seller added the following information:Engine is the original Chevy 216, straight 6 engine. I know I posted this already but the truck must be towed to your location as it does not start as of now. All the extra parts I purchased for the truck are included in the sale. I have all the receipts totaling over $4000 in parts alone and the new glass was purchased because the door glass was broken on both sides. I bought a conversion kit that replaced the "vent" window split with FULL glass. The replacement glass is a one piece, with chrome edging. I have this brand new for both doors. Glass cost $150 each alone. Again, included with this sale. Ask all questions before you bid or buy as your bid is a commitment to BUY, not a commitment to inspect the truck. This truck must sell as I really did hurt myself at work and due to nerve damage in my arm, I cannot shift the truck and need the cash.On Sep-04-10 at 16:46:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok well the reserve price was $3000.00 so this truck will sell to the highest bidder. Thank you everyone for the bids and questions. Im trying to be as accurate as possible with my description. This truck is the 5 window cab for those who were wondering.
